Ralph Savelsberg (Mad Physicist) has made a wonderful model of the De Havilland Mosquito used by the RAF in World War II. His proportions and clever cockpit designs (as well as the special working features) are what really make Ralph’s planes stand out from the usual offerings.
The fire engine I built last year was mainly inspired by other LEGO builders, so I wanted to design something from scratch on my own. Here’s the result:
My brother sent me a link to the S&S Fire Apparatus Co’s awesome Wildland Ultra XT, and I just had to build this amazing vehicle — used by the US Bureau of Land Management and local departments where brushfires are common, such as the San Diego Fire Department.

I love the look of orange with…just about any color, and so of course this wonderfully-made truck by Jas Nagra (J5N) caught my eye at once while browsing Flickr. It’s very well-made, I very much like the design of the rear-view mirrors.
Firas Abu-Jaber has posted his best LEGO car yet — an Audio R8 TDI Le Mans:
The sheer level of detail Firas packed into his car is unbelievable, from the grill and headlights on the front to the spoiler on the back.

In his explorations of the subway system of Gotham City Brent Wolke (thwaak) has uncovered a secret world: a world of subway racers. These are the cutest set of LEGOy things I’ve seen in ages.
The Power Miners line has inspired several fan creations based on the theme. These two recent ones by SolarRed and Jarek (Jerrec) are noteworthy for their accurate adherence to the theme while adding the dash of details as expected from adult fan builders.
Fvin doesn’t seem content to wait for the release of LEGO Disney/Pixar sets.

Brad Edmondson’s (Tristarian Arms) futuristic hover tank is “a labor of love” – a project that had its inspirational roots from many years back during the builder’s teenage years. We’ve blogged our share of LEGO motorcycles over the years, but it’s always a pleasure to find someone new who contributes his or her own unique style to these two-wheeled death machines.
