Nathan Proudlove built this classic showrod and it’s smokin’! This particular model brings back fond memories of my own childhood Hotwheels cars. I had this one…
There’s a video too.

Dan Siskind of BrickMania has just announced that his next custom kit is available for pre-order — the M4A3(76)W VVSS Sherman Tank.
I’d never bought any custom LEGO kits from somebody else, but I bought two of Dan’s kits a few months ago.
I couldn’t have been more pleased. They’re well-designed, interesting to build (well, except maybe the tank treads, heh heh), and a lot of fun to see how another LEGO builder solves interior structure problems you’d never see in a photo.
Though the printed instructions for the two kits I ordered were $10 more expensive, I found them harder to read than the electronic version on a CD.
If you’re reading this, you probably have a computer, so I recommend taking the cheaper, more legible route.
You can pre-order your own Sherman from BrickMania.com.
Jarek (Jerrec) has updated his red A-Wing to match Ralph McQuarrie’s original blue color scheme.
With all its curves, angled tail fins, and that strange gap in the nose, the A-Wing is an especially challenging starfighter to build with LEGO. Jarek does an amazing job at minifig scale to capture the shape and details.
Ever since I built this helicopter, I’ve wanted to build another meshed-rotor helicopter. I also wanted to combine the two windscreen pieces I used, before someone else beat me to the punch.
I built this to accompany the Iron Mountain Legion Tank, that I posted recently. Like the tank, this is destined for a diorama I’m working on with a friend, for BrickFair. Unlike the tank, this is motorized. In fact, I ran the motor for most of these photos, to try for a bit of motion blur, which I think worked out well in some shots.
A reminder, don’t forget to come check us out at BrickFair! We should have some awesome displays!
This six axle crane, by M Longer, is more than ready for the task. All that orange is pretty sweet too.
Sounds like it should a horrible mashup of bandwagon themes, but it’s actually one of the coolest things I’ve seen in a while. Nathan Proudlove built this steampunk battle bug for this year’s BrickCon in Seattle. Way to bring it.
Looking forward to seeing it in person.
Jon Hall (jonhall18) recently built this fantastic speeder.
It incorporates a lot of great angles, without looking like it’s a bunch of sections being forced together. Instead, it really appears as though the hull came from a factory in one piece. It also features just enough greebles inside of the fins to look good, without going overboard. The sticker use is also impeccable.
Firas Abu-Jaber presents his largest project to date: the Lamborghini Showroom, featuring the amazing cars from this talented builder. I like the stylish yet simple appearance of the building, yet the interior is nothing short of detailed. Check out the gallery for close-ups and the builder’s thoughts on this fine creation.
My local auto mechanic was forced to leave their current location across the street and the shop has been destroyed to make room for a grocery store and mini-strip mall, the bane of suburban America, moving into my inner city ‘hood. The only upside is that while waiting for my bus, I get to watch big earth moving machines at work. So it was great timing when someone recommended the creations of ZED, who entered several Caterpillars in an alternative models build for DoubleBrick, his local LEGO group. He built this Caterpillar 385C excavator . . .
. . . out of this Caterpillar D11T bulldozer:
Very cool. Thanks to Igor Makarov for the heads-up. Good call.
I went to college in a town with a heavy agricultural focus and a large number of migrant farm workers, who labored in the apple, onion, cherry and grape industries, so this little scene by Chris Blessing (Mdrn~Mrvls) really appealed to me.
There’s a lot to love in one small scene, but I especially like the brick-built ladder and that the cherry crates stack up on the back of this fantastic truck.
