LEGO planes, trains, and automobiles! Well, maybe not trains, since they don’t like to play with the other LEGO themes, but here you’ll find all our favorite cars, buses, boats, ships, helicopters, and anything else with an engine (and some without).

Truckin’ in style

This Peterbilt rig by Bricksonwheels is to die for. While the shiney chrome goodness leaps out at you, the build is phenomonal. Remoted controlled via Power Functions and featuring all sort of fun features, this truck truly rocks.

Makorol’s mobile crane handles more load than most

LUGPol proves that even their TFOLs can build with mad skills. Take Makorol and his Liebherr LTM 1050-3.1 mobile crane. I don’t feel qualified to guide you through all the details, but I will mention that like every LUGPol vehicle, adding Power Functions is obligatory (see the video). See more pictures on Brickshelf.

A new way to explore

Tiago Catarino‘s Mobile Lab Platform Explorer has a unique design, but besides the concept, this vehicle actually moves! Check out the video.

Ghostbusters Ecto-1

Alex Schranz (Orion Pax) did a stunning job of rendering the Ectomobile from Ghostbusters in Lego. This beauty was completed in only two days and features some shiny chrome elements. He says it’s a keeper, and who couldn’t agree more?

Lockheed Constellation “Connie”

Nick Dean finished his model of the Lockheed Constellation, a propeller-driven aircraft used in the 40’s and 50’s as a civilian airliner and military transport plane. In addition to capturing the unique shape of the aircraft, Nick has also included a 1950’s refueling truck that’s a beauty of its own. You can see all pictures in this Flickr gallery.

Please protect me

The construction and presentation of this hornet battle bug arrangement by Lino Martins called Protector of the Great Queen is pretty fearsome. Lino keeps rewarding the viewer with fun techniques hidden in the foliage like Jar Jar heads as the base of a plant.

God save the Queen.

Last month‘s challenge over at Lugnuts has, as always, yielded some amazing builds. Peter Blackert‘s Austin FX4 London Black Cab caught my eye in particular. I’ll be right honest — I thought it was a hearse. Seeing it’s something different doesn’t phase me in the least, though. I won’t deny the sleek styling and fantastic lines!

A new and improved motorized tank

We never blogged the first version of Zackhariah Macasaet‘s motorized M1A2 Abrams Tank, so it’s a good thing he posted a better version. This is one sturdy war machine that can handle a variety of obstacles including crossing large gaps, climbing a mound of nails, and even stand from being dropped! Watch the video and see it in action.

It’s all a matter of perspective

Perspective can be the difference between a decent photo of a good creation, and something fantastic. Take the photo below by Mike Yoder, for example. He’s taken a photo of his diorama from a perspective that makes it feel truly immersive. There are a few elements in the close foreground to frame the rest of what we can see, which is action in the near ground as well as some interesting detail in the distance.

This makes me want to build a diorama to take photos of some of my space ships in. It’s a real encouragement to step it up.

Let me lay it out for you, in Black and White.

Kevin Fedde has built himself some awesome roadsters. Makes me want to hop in one and go for a cruise. The classic lines are beautiful. The gangster owners are not. But don’t tell them I said that, okay? I have enough problems without mini gangsters gunning for me.

US Navy Whalers by Lego Monster

I love the sloped hulls on these WW2 era US Navy 26ft whaler boats by Ed Diment (Lego Monster). Great curves without clunky interior support structure. Very nice.
