SK Minden is a search-and-rescue vessel of the German Maritime Rescue Service — thus the “SAR” in great brick-built letters on the hull:

His latest car is a 1946 Mercury “Woody.” Perfect for that trip to the beach you’ve been planning for the first day of summer.

Almost exactly two years ago, we highlighted the Piece of Peace exhibit in Japan, featuring UNESCO World Heritage sites built from LEGO by Japanese Master Builder Kazuyoshi Naoe (photo by SkylineGTR).
Now, a second exhibit (complete with an official blog) has been opened at the Parco shopping complex in Shibuya (an area of Tokyo), and photos of the amazing models have been turning up everywhere since the exhibit first opened in Shibuya on February 1st (the exhibit is now in Nagoya, until March 24).

Chiukeung from Hong Kong minimizes the latest Green Grocer LEGO set. The model uses over 450 lego pieces and took two weeks to design and build. It looks very nice, and check out the mini renditions of Cafe Corner and Market Street below:

Steven‘s latest model is as realistic as ever. The following words from the builder sums up the model nicely:
“This is the Bedford Royal mail van. It completes my series of Lego Bedfords. They are based on oxford die-cast models and this one has the standard features of the others, suspension and functional steering. The back doors open and close with interior and exterior hinge details. The front grille has been changed to give some variation in the builds. I would like to give thanks to Taff @ Oxford Die-cast models for providing me with the template for the decals.”
Sweet unholy hell. When MisterZumbi does something for the first time, he does it with a bang — like a backfiring hotrod.
For someone who’s never built anything larger than minifig-scale, this is quite the first. The level of detail in MisterZumbi’s “Road Zombie” is unbelievable. Click the pic to check out the engine, the interior, and other tidbits of heavy metal goodness.

Toy Fair 2008 is approaching and there have been pictures of the late 2008 sets circulating on the web. I found Joe Meno with some of the first pictures of themes including Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Speed Racer, Bionicle, and Batman.
