Carter Baldwin doesn’t seem to believe in straight lines. His NATO F-83 Seraphim is all angles, curves, hooks and beauty. And it even has working landing gear.

War Machines Strike
Chris Edwards once again demonstrates proper way of controling the action with his latest diorama called War Machines Strike. Using clever building techniques as well as puns, Chris shows us what happens when intelligent combat robots throw down their weapons and go on strike, ha! Check out the full gallery on Flickr.
The Manticore orbital death machine
Blake Foster‘s third SHIP is a superweapon with the power to “destroy nearly anything produced by humankind.” This 180 stud long model has some eye-catching features like the spherical bridge and the asymmetrical design of the mid-section. The other side of the ship has docks for two minifig-scale fighters. You can see all this and more in the gallery on Flickr or MOCpages.
Beautiful curves of the Phenix
Christophe Corthay‘s Star Trek inspired Vulcan ship called the Phenix has some of the craziest curves I’ve seen. They’re crazy because not only are there so many rings, but they are also textured by SNOT techniques. I can’t imagine the amount of strain in this model, which could make it explode at any moment. But for what it’s worth, the result looks drop dead gorgeous.
Tough but Fair
This new ship by Marcin N (martin86bb) has a vibe I really like. It’s a little ugly, a little boxy, and it all just works. It reads as a utilitarian space ship, and like it was really designed purposefully. The builder doesn’t describe the function of the ship, but I like to think it could be the space equivalent of a tug boat or shunting locomotive.
There are just enough details around the engine section to really work (and I’m always a fan of a little hexalateral symmetry). The chairs as fins are also a nice touch.
Big is beautiful but small is sexy
For his LEGO models Pierre A. Fieschi dispenses with minifigs and builds small. But you’d never know it looking at the thumbnails for his models. In the last two weeks he’s posted 6 models and I recommend checking all of them out (and anything further back). This, dear readers, is how you build small.
EDIT: As Dan rightly points out there is indeed a minifig in the minifig scaled vehicle above. I am blind and wrong.
Médecins Sans Planètes
This Ploughshare Evacuation Vehicle by Lord Pappadhum is both a solid little build and a nice twist on the space fighter concept by converting it into the workhorse of a futuristic non-governmental organization.
I really like both the simple color scheme and the red cross emblazoned treatment pod at the back.
I’m too busy to post
I really like this spaceship. Usually I have issues with busy spaceships but not this one. This one I like. Thanks Don Wilson (thepaleman9).
Space Lounge 000
Mike Yoder (yoder42) made a small LEGO webcomic. There’s a lot of great action, and especially great models. Anyone else get an 80s or early 90s vibe here?
Heaps of good LEGO stuff
Has it been international LEGO building weekend or something? I’ve got a whole stack of new and great models popping up in my flickr stream today and I’m not really sure why. So you get a roundup post of Aurore&Aube, Soren Roberts, Anthony Sava, Pete Reid and zachmoe.
Mars + Octan + LEGO = Racing
Not content with bringing us cool LEGO sets, Mark Stafford (lego_nabii) also continues to bring us cool MOCs. Another for the LUGNUTs challenge.
The Martian Polar Pavonis Rally takes place annually (a Martian year is 687 days) between Schmit Ice Base at the Southern pole and the MSA Research station at Pavonis Mons, near the Martian equator. The race is a martian tradition commemorating the emergency transport of oxygen to the base in the first years of settlement.
