I built these elemental mages for BrickFest but I’m just getting around to posting them.

Jared Burks collaborates with another great customizer, NickGreat, to create the Devaronian Mos Eisley Cantina denizen Labria (nicknamed “Louie” during production):
I noticed a cool papercraft stormtrooper in Brickshelf user Obi-Wan-Stefen’s gallery, who kindly provided enough info to get to i like toys, which linked to Japanese site Piro model with instructions and templates for creating your own papercraft Star Wars minifigs:
Click the pictures above to go to instruction pages on Piro model. The instructions will be in Japanese, but they’re numbered and easy enough to follow visually.
Here’s what the templates look like:
Have fun, and let us know if you try making any of these.
Photographer Joe Braun has created a series of photographs that incorporate classic Space minifigs into real-world environments. The result is other-worldy:

Author Kurt Vonnegut died today in New York (BBC story).
Here’s my Billy Pilgrim minifig from Slaughterhouse Five, a book inspired by Vonnegut’s experience as a prisoner of war in Dresden during World War II:
But Flickr user baby_elephant has a funny batch of minifigs inspired by Arrested Development (with the Bluth company vehicle, naturally):
BrickFest 2007 wrapped up on Sunday, but I’ve been so busy I haven’t had a chance to sit down and reflect. Well, here goes.
Highlights for me:
Phew. That was all so fun I’m now miserably sick. :-D
Still, I can’t wait for the next major LEGO event I’ll be attending, NWBrickCon. See you all there! (You can read more about what NWBrickCon was like last year right here on The Brothers Brick.)
Agent oo7 demonstrates that it’s never too early (or late?) to show off your holiday-themed minifigs.
Finally, on a more positive note, Yehudah Hamakabi:
See for yourself:
At least Ginny doesn’t have an RPG like last time. Oh, wait…
Holy %&*#!@.
Don’t forget to check out Caylin’s post on Classic-Castle.
Though nearly everybody has used the head from Frankenstein’s Monster as Trade Federation Viceroy Nute Gunray’s head, everyone seems to struggle with his headdress/hat. Moko also says he struggled, but I think Nute’s pointy hat thingie turned out rather well:
And a bonus Episode I minifig — a Naboo Security Force soldier:
See all of Moko’s Star Wars minifigs in his Brickshelf gallery.
