These guitars by LEGOWOW have enough detail to look almost exactly like the real thing, but they’re still small enough to be awesomely adorable.
Thanks to Bruce for the tip!
A new builder going by SPACE, TIME, & REALITY has posted a microscale version of the Nakagin Capsule Tower in Tokyo.
The technique used for the round capsule windows is excellent, while the mix of light and dark windows adds interest.

Dan Joosten’s contest on Classic-Castle has run its course and he’s declared winners in all categories:
Miniature Set: Bartosza6m with his version of 6081 – King’s Mountain Fortress:
Miniature Castle: Chris Edwards with his Castle on the Lake:
Check out the second place, third place, and runner-up entries here! Congratulations, everyone!
Sorry for not coming up with a better title, but if you look at Chris Edward‘s microscale Castle on the Lake, you’ll either be consciously or unconsciously affected by all the shades of green from the sand green roofs to the green cliff vegetation and finally… the tranquil yet ominous green water. This subtlety combined with Chris’ skilled building equals a fine creation.
This is micro-scale at its absolute best. When I saw a thumbnail of this build by Fredoichi, I thought that it was minifigure scale. I can’t think of a more impressive feat for a creation at this scale than to read as bigger and more detailed than it is.
Flickr and Classic-Castle member TooMuchCaffeine has posted this gorgeous entry for Classic-Castle’s Mini Castle Contest:
The micro-castle itself is rather lovely, but what really caught my eye was the presentation. Building his castle to fit inside the chest was ingenious!
I strongly suspect most of you have already seen this, but this LEGO Star Wars chess set by Brandon Griffith (icgetaway) is well worth another look.
In addition to a great board and the minifig stands one might expect from a LEGO chess set, Brandon built a bunch of microscale Star Wars vehicles and even a couple of cute little vignettes as chess pieces.

In addition to the fantastic new creations coming out of Dan’s Mini Castle Contest V, we get to see immense creativity in micro-scale recreations of our favorite classic castle sets.
Griffon brings an excellent rendition of 6080 LEGOLand Castle, originally released in 1984:
It even opens up, just like the original! Check out the rest of the photos on Brickshelf.
This microscale castle scene by Marcos Bessa looks pretty nifty, especially the dock and the ship. Looking at this makes me want to see a full-blown medieval landscape that rivals the size of the famous Shannonia microcity.
This little craft, by Fredoichi, caught me off guard. I didn’t realize it was microscale until I’d clicked on it. Nice job, very nice job.
It’s been only less than two weeks since the release of 10197 Fire Brigade, but Alex Eylar (Profound Whatever) has already microscaled it. I won’t ask how many of his Flickr contacts thought it was the actual set from the thumbnail pictures.
