I like the apparent simplicity of the overall design of this microscale space station by Ludgonious, especially the transparent yellow windows at the top and the round protrusions toward the bottom. Lots of good detailing without being too cluttered. A good balance.

Colony Ships of the fleet RHIA
We feature a lot of LEGO microscale creations, but it seems like the huge stuff always gets the limelight. Sometimes, though, it’s not about how much LEGO you own, but how you use what you’ve got.
These little spaceships by Craig Lavergne (Tayasuune) aren’t built from very many pieces, but demonstrate originality of design and several interesting parts uses.
The red ship looks like it could do some serious damage if it rammed the fragile white ship with the gravity rings.
You are the resistance.
After really enjoying Terminator Salvation last year, I thought we’d see quite a few LEGO creations inspired by the movie, but the only LEGO I’d run across was my own Terminator Salvation minifigs.
Thankfully, tbone_tbl seems to have appreciated what I think is the best movie in the series, and has created a microscale vignette of the first scene in the movie.
The micro A-10 Warthog in the foreground is certainly nice, but that Harvester mech in the background is excellent.
Home Alone house + X-Files bonus
This microscale version of the McCallister house from Home Alone by Rob H. (rh1985moc) evokes cold Northeast winters and warm nights by the fireplace.
Like several of his previous creations, Rob has added LEDs to the windows so it lights up in the dark.
Of course, this also a good excuse to highlight Rob’s older microscale J. Edgar Hoover FBI headquarters building.
It’s a really nice building, but the same photoset yields Special Agent Fox Mulder at his desk in the basement office relegated to the X-Files.

Leprechaun of the Endless Void
This freighter, by Soren, threw me for a loop. I didn’t realize it was micro-scale. Leprechaun is a very appropriate name, I’m thinkin’.
Mars is at least 54 million miles farther from the Sun than Earth
I almost passed up Justin Vaughn‘s little Mars colony until I saw it on MicroBricks. Why? The lighting just didn’t seem right.
In reality, the lighting is perfect. Light on Mars is a lot dimmer than on Earth, with an orange hue from the dust-laden skies. The biodome is built from two halves of Buzz Lightyear’s helmet from the new LEGO Toy Story Construct-a-Buzz set.
Futuristic throwback carrier
I think my favorite things about this futuristic carrier by Mike (Chaffeem) are the retro biplanes and the smoothness of the micro modeling.
And yes, it is floating in water.
Buzz!
Armed Courier
Soren Roberts has built a new micro-scale ship. It merges curved and angled elements into an interesting and cohesive shape. I’ve never liked building space craft in red, personally, but this one works, with just enough of other colors to impart a sense of reality.
This photo is of the underside of the ship, which is also my favorite side.
Onyasis Landing Platform
Sometimes I wonder if I blog Pete Reid‘s creations too often. The problem is, he just posts such fantastic builds.
This landing “platform” is really several platforms and a tower, and they’re all just packed with detail. The texture really adds a lot to the impact of the model, as there’s seemingly always something else to look at. I think my favorite detail is the little door leading out to each platform.
Adorable micro sub discovers micro LEGO Atlantis
Tim Goddard (roguebantha_1138) brings us what is likely the first microscale creation inspired by the new LEGO Atlantis theme.
Note how Tim integrated the new Atlantis visor and helmet into the vehicle.
