Nelson Yrizarry has gone all piratey with his latest creation, The Sand Bar. Crammed full of all kinds of detailed goodies, this bar caters to the scum of the high seas, both soldiers and buccaneers. Because opposing sides always need a place to have a friendly drink before blasting each other out of the water…

A Day at the Races
Frog Races, that is. This diorama by Matt Armstrong cracked me up! Someone needs to investigate that frog…
The Brick Testament updated with Book of Job
Comforting to some, deeply challenging to others, the Book of Job has long stirred discussion among believers in the Judeo-Christian religious tradition.
The Rev. Brendan Powell Smith gives Job The Brick Testament treatment with eight pictorial stories, including God speaking to Job from within a whirlwind:
Daniel lays siege to Elenaï
Daniel Z charges into the Colossal Castle Contest VI with “The Siege of Elenaï.”
The trebuchet and wooden hoardings are certainly excellent, but my favorite detail is the group of sappers who think they’ve dug deep enough to mine under the moat. They’re in for a surprise!
Pirate landing on Neptune’s Noggin
Jordan Schwartz gets everyone in the mood for pirates with his latest and largest creation depicting a peaceful harbor invaded by plundering pirates. There’s plenty of action floating around this scene, but most impressive is the pirate ship, which is a spectacle in itself.
Check out Jordan’s creation featured on LAMLtv with a clip of the builder explaining his work in person.

Lurking evil in the perfect life
Tom Snellan is the first to enter the 6th annual Collossal Castle Contest with a creation that sets the bar high. Titled “The Perfect Life?”, this seemingly peaceful diorama depicts happiness with a twist, where hooded Death approaches ominously to claim an innocent’s life. What an eerie juxtaposition!
GO MINIMAN GO Photo Contest ends October 31
Okay, Brothers Brick readers, our GO MINIMAN GO Photo Contest ends in less than a week, on October 31!
Ricardo Silva (evildead from Klocki) has submitted “Go Miniman Panic Go!” — in which “science-fiction turns into reality”:
Things go downhill for the minifigs in Rupi‘s second entry:
Thanks for all the great entries so far, everyone!
Reminder: Don’t forget to let us know you’ve entered, and be sure to include what category your entry is for. ;-)
A journey into insanity
I present my latest surrealist sculpture, called the Legacy of Vision. It is an exploration of the theme of insanity and a sequel to my earlier work, the Cry of Dreams. Both sculptures are made in similar style, depicting equally macabre subjects. Likewise, I have a bit of writing accompanying this work, which will offer more insight to this creation for those interested. I’m planning on eventually making a third scultpure to complete the three-piece collection called the Metamorphosis of the Mind.

SlyOwl’s Spanish Armada ranges slightly off course
SlyOwl‘s entry for the Forbidden Cove Castaway Contest uses so many interesting techniques it’s hard to pick just a few to highlight:
The skeleton parts evoke a truly ragged sail. The narwhale in the water takes a moment to recognize, but once identified, SlyOwl’s brilliance is unquestionable. The reindeer head on a stick is, well, interesting.
Oh, and the goats are adorable.
