LEGO reveals LEGO Disney 43263 Beauty and the Beast Castle, a brick-built château for Prince Adam

In a tale as old as time, LEGO is tackling it’s third large castle from the House of Mouse with LEGO Disney 43263 Beauty and the Beast Castle. Following in the footsteps of LEGO Disney 71040 Cinderella Castle from 2016 and LEGO Disney 43222 The Disney Castle from 2023, this massive new castle from Beauty and the Beast stands at 20.5 in. (53 cm) tall, and is comprised of 2,916 pieces. Contained within it’s four stories, you’ll find 5 minifigures including Belle, Beast, and Gaston. But you’ll also find brick-built versions of your favorite animated home goods from the movie: Lumière, Cogsworth, Chip, and Mrs. Potts. You’ll have to wait until April 4 to get your hands on this fortress from the ’91 movie of note, or you can expect early access through the LEGO Insiders program on April 1 (no joke!). LEGO Disney 43263 Beauty and the Beast Castle will retail for US $279.99 | CAN $349.99 | UK £239.99.

Ever as before, ever just as sure as there’s more on this set below!

Belle and Beast star in beautiful LEGO minifigure habitats

Disney 100 might be over, but for LEGO builders like legonano(tama), the animation celebration never stops. Her latest tribute is a collection of minifig habitats based on Beauty and the Beast. Each scene is packed with fun details, my favorite definitely the being the “Be Our Guest” dining room scene with dancing plates and Cogsworth encased in gelatin. The builder plays with two scales here: traditional 8x8s on top of larger 12×12 habitats that allow for more complex scenes.

Minifig habitats are 8×8 vignettes that can and stacked and rearranged in pleasing geometric configurations. During COVID lockdown, it was a pretty big trend! So much so that even LEGO released some “official minifig habitats.” Its’s such a fun format for building that doesn’t demand a huge collection of parts to make something delightful. We’re warmed to see builders like legonano keeping the habitat trend going strong.

More than a clock and candlestick

It’s more than an average rose, and they’re more than household items. The loveable duo of Lumiere and Cogsworth are a couple of the most beloved characters in the classic Disney universe. They’ve been recreated in LEGO many times, but this build by Stfn is not to be lost in the crowd. At this scale, the little details matter most. Using a green rifle for the rose stem and a wooden half-barrel with a weapon barrel and Technic wheel for the decorative table base are clever touches. Better yet is the dual purpose of the hinge plates in Cogsworth. Not only do they create the right body shape, but the two-tone color scheme also creates a lovely pattern that suits the character perfectly.

If you like the classic Disney movie, check out this build of Belle and Gaston. Or maybe marvel at the wonders of an award-winning replica of the castle library.

No one builds like Gaston

We recently covered Mike Nieves‘ excellent Belle from Beauty and the Beast, but of course, she needs an antagonist. Now Mike is back to bring us everyone’s favorite Disney chump, Gaston. With ludicrously bulging muscles and a smarmy grin, this LEGO sculpt captures the essence of Gaston perfectly as he shows off for a disinterested Belle. The little bit of scenery ties it all together, with an excellent stump that even includes tree rings.

“How can you build this? There’s no pictures!”

“Well, some people use their imagination.” Mike Nieves has used his imagination to create a wonderfully whimsical representation of Belle from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Mike’s character build may not have a defined face, but the pose and setting is iconically Belle. Thanks to her outstretched hand and head tucked in a book, I can almost hear her singing.

Belle

Thanks to an extensive use of curved and angled slope elements, Mike has done a great job of capturing the look of Belle. As we can see in this shot, sloped elements are also used to convey a sense of motion with the flow of Belle’s dress. There is some incredibly nice detailing here, including the clever ribbons for the hair and dress.

Belle
If you like Mike’s model of Belle, you won’t want to miss his other LEGO Disney character builds.

Be our guest and browse this stunning LEGO version of the library from Beauty & The Beast

This LEGO re-creation of the library from Disney’s Beauty & The Beast by Sarah von Innerebner isn’t just huge, it’s also stunning. From the soaring spiral stairs, the ornate fireplace, the tall windows and their curtains, through to shelf after shelf of books — the entire model is beautifully crafted, and (from what I remember of the short scene in the movie) wonderfully accurate.

At the heart of the scene, Belle and the Beast stand before the fireplace. The predominantly white and gold colour scheme provides a glittering backdrop yet doesn’t overwhelm the details on display. I love the red and green furniture, and the little touches like the writing desk and globe. The tiled floor offers a nice contrast to all the white.

Lego sculpture of Beauty and the Beast

Vincent Cheung’s (fvin&yan) sculpture of the ballroom scene from Beauty and the Beast is flourishing with details. This was built for Ani-Com Hong Kong and made its way into the top 12 entries, which you should definitely check out.
