September was a busy month for LEGO events, from the Seriously Huge spaceships of SHIPtember to the colorful minidoll-driven ships of Friendshiptember, but another community challenge just wrapped, and it’s the most inclusive one of all – We Arrr Family! The event invites anyone to create a pirate crew of at least 3 characters with Continue reading →
The dark fantasy worlds of FromSoftware’s games have been a huge influence for many AFOLs with their bold character designs, ornate gear, and haunting medieval settings. Builder panc4kez has been creating LEGO models inspired by From’s genre-defining Dark Souls, which perfectly translate the game’s aesthetics into brick form. After months of individual construction, Dark Sun Continue reading →
Don’t miss our fourth week of coverage of SHIPtember 2025, the month-long spaceship-building challenge where builders from around the world create 100 studs long (or tall or wide) LEGO spaceships.
@bigbrickstan gets a late entry in for the LEGO community’s yearly month of frogs, albeit with some help from a tortoise.
Our October pick of the month is the Game Boy. This compact build is a near-perfect 1:1 recreation of the landmark gaming handheld and is constructed using complex techniques that will make you appreciate LEGO geometry. Better yet, with the exception of the game cartridge covers, all graphics are printed, and the interchangeable lenticular Continue reading →

We’ve seen so much creativity in how minifigs can be customized, from creative use of existing parts, to custom printed minifig torsos, to third-party cloth accessories, to hand-crocheted minifig coats! But for fashionistas, there’s only so much that can be done at minifig scale. Recent buildable figure sets for Wednesday and Wicked offer a new Continue reading →
It must be a slow news week as TBB’s own Lino Martins (@lino_martins_artist) digs up the vault of his own classic LEGO rides.
Inspired by Wes Talbott’s ‘Dungeon Dangers’ template and series of MOCs (see those fantastic sets here), TBB alum turned fellow set designer Carter Baldwin set out to make his own dungeon crawl with an ancient Greek mythological twist. The color choices and contrast are stunning, and the assembly behind the stark blue decorations on the Continue reading →
It’s a stacked month of releases with sets for every taste, from geodes to Gizmos to game consoles to giant death slices! We found a lot to like in this month’s offerings (even if the trend of more big-ticket releases has us questioning who has shelf space to keep up). If you’re looking to add Continue reading →
Over the course of 20+ years, Nintendo released a number of Game Boy models – but none as tiny as this. Pending the release of the official LEGO Game Boy set, builder mc tung shared his micro Game Boy that puts the original Game Boy Micro to shame. It’s an impressive feat at this scale, though I doubt any of us who were around for the original Game Boy are playing anything on a screen this small these days. The technic axle D-pad is especially inspired!
