TRENCH: a board game
TRENCH is an abstract board game that features a mechanism of movement and capturing enemy pieces that reminds me of chess. LEGO Designer Marcos Bessa fell in love with the design and built it out of Lego. You can check out this video on YouTube to learn how the game works.
Team Fortress 2 Upward map
Logan (∞CaptainInfinity∞) built this diorama based on the Team Fortress 2 map Upward. The dramatic sloping of the roofs and the distinctive base markings should make this obvious to any fan of the game, not to mention the minifig versions of the characters are so fun to look at.
Lego Minecraft Creeper
Nick V (Brickthing) said it best when he described the Minecraft Creeper he built as “commonly misunderstood creatures, yearning company but lacking social confidence at crucial moments.” Don’t forget to check out his Minecraft Zombie and Notch figures as well.
All Ferraris are beautiful, even the ugly ones
Remember the Alfa Romeo racer I posted a while ago? In that post, I made a remark about the truly hideous nose of the Ferrari F14 T, which is their Formula one car for the 2014 season. To get more air under the car, where it is accelerated to create down force, race car designers want to raise the nose far from the ground. This led to the noses on Formula 1 cars steadily creeping upward over the years. In fact, they were getting so far off the ground that they were beginning to pose a danger to other drivers in case of a crash. Consequently, this year, new regulations were introduced that limited how high the nose is allowed to be and this has led to some ‘interesting’ engineering solutions.
Ferrari’s method resulted in a decidedly crooked shape. Nathanael L. has built a model of the F14 T, but at first I didn’t even really notice the small kink. It’s a beautiful car. Mind you, Ferrari’s solution is by no means the ugliest. I can’t imagine anybody building Torro Rosso F1 car any time soon…

LEGO CUUSOO Ghostbusters Ecto-1 set revealed [News]
Another new set unveiled at ToyFair in New York City this morning is 21108 LEGO Ghostbusters, featuring the iconic Ecto-1 car and the four main characters from the first movie. The final design in the official set retains the level of detail that Brent Waller built into his proposed design.
The set includes four unique minifigs with all their gear:
21108 LEGO Ghostbusters will be released in June 2014 for USD $49.99.

LEGO 70810 MetalBeard’s Seacow set unveiled at ToyFair [News]
A new LEGO Movie set 70810 MetalBeard’s Seacow has been officially unveiled at ToyFair in New York City. Looks like there’s a different version of MetalBeard in this set from the previous set, which works for me. I must say, I’m pretty excited about this set (though not as much as I am about Benny’s Classic Spaceship, of course).

Dinosaur Thrill Ride
TBB newcomer Tim Schwalfenberg drops in with this roller coaster thrill ride that is both a bit of a fright, and a delight to look at:
I really encourage everyone to take a close look at this one, there are just some fantastic tricks I’ve never seen before – especially the track made from tile and hinges. And if you look real carefully you might be able to find the three prehistoric baddies roaming around.
And I think Tim was really able to capture how I would look riding through this park.
