Our regular readers may have noticed a couple times in the last week or two when The Brothers Brick has been unavailable. Our crack team of server ninjas is hard at work, though, so we should be back to normal shortly.

MONACLE Interview with LEGO CEO Jørgen Vig Knudstorp
Check out this 20-minute interview with LEGO CEO Jørgen Vig Knudstorp by MONACLE magazine editor Tyler Brûlé
Thanks to the magic of Google Video, you can watch it right here on The Brothers Brick:
News: Can you help save the Building Instructions Portal?
Several years ago, Jake McKee, the former “community guy” for The LEGO Company, created the Building Instructions Portal (currently unavailable).
Due to real-life priorities, Jake announced over the weekend on LUGNET that he’s looking for someone to whom he can hand over the reigns of the site.
Read all about it on LUGNET, but in particular Jake is looking for someone familar with Adobe ColdFusion. (I miss Allaire…)
EDIT: Jake clarifies:
I’m looking for someone interested in a solution, which may or may not be based on ColdFusion. Since the site AND the database need to be recreated from the ground up (because both were done by a foolish young code noob…me), language doesn’t really matter.

BrickArms does it again!
This week BrickArms announced brand-new weaponery for that special minifig in your life!
BrickArms, famous for being the only custom pieces that Andrew owns, previously brought us 8 incredible custom weapons. I know because I bought way too many of them at NWBrickCon last year. Also my Vikings really love ’em (yes, my Vikings).
This new offering is even better! Mr. Chapman (and his family I presume) will be selling their new hardware at BrickFest PDX, if you want to meet them in person. I am going to be so broke after Brickfest …
Winners announced for CCCIV!
After months of difficult judging by Classic Castle Admins, the winners for Colossal Castle Contest IV have been decided!
Not only are the winning entries incredible, the 348 other entries includes some awesome creations too (thanks to Jens for compiling stats on the entries)! Check out all the entries here.
News: More Mid-2007 Sets at Nuremburg Toy Fair
Pictures from the Nuremburg Toy Fair have shown up on Brickshelf. We’ve seen pictures of most of these sets already, and known most of them were in the pipeline, but it’s nice to see pictures — and there are a couple surprises.
EDIT: Looks like the pictures have been moved or deleted, and the folder itself is currently not public. I’ll add pictures again once they become available.
Earth Park by Sachiko
Back on the old blog, I posted a couple times about a series of TV episodes in Japan called “LEGO King Championship.” You can read more about the show here, and see a YouTube video here. Unfortunately, the images I linked to in my original post quickly expired, and the YouTube footage doesn’t do justice to the creations.
After a very long wait (well, I’ve been waiting), Sachiko Akinaga has uploaded a great set of pictures that show off the “Earth Park” that won her the title of LEGO Champion:

News: PicToBrick mosaic software now available
TBB received a message from LEGO Ambassador Juan Macias yesterday with a link to the Web site of a new LEGO mosaic tool, PicToBrick by Tobias Reichling and Adrian Schütz:
PicToBrick converts digital pictures to a format you can use to create mosaics. For LEGO fans, the software offers several cool features, including color and brick type selection.
To learn more about PicToBrick, read the full LUGNET announcement, or head on over to the English or German version of PicToBrick.de.
Tobias and Adrian are releasing PicToBrick under the Free Software Foundation’s GNU General Public License. In addition to executables that work on Windows, Mac, and Linux, they’re making the source code available. Since they’re releasing PicToBrick as “donation ware,” if you like PicToBrick, be sure to support Tobias and Adrian! :D
Everyone else is doing it...
Well, I was surfing the web and I came across this hilarious image of so called “Web 2.0-ized” logos, which lead me to this nifty “Web 2.0 Logo Creatr.” I couldn’t resisit:
