This little build by Disco86 is a wonderful example of an expert use of space! Even though it has a very small footprint, the builder was able to really give a sense of the size and creepiness of Mirkwood Forest. Also, even though I personally am getting tired of every fantasy and medieval creation having a border, it really does work on this one. The border is simple, frames the scene nicely and gives you the feel that this is a section of a much larger whole. Beautifully played!
Alex Jones has done a beautiful job recreating this iconic character from the Ghostbuster franchise. Just look at that smile, he’s harmless!

The Bricks to the Past group in the UK unveiled their latest large-scale collaboration at the Great Western Brick Show (aka STEAM) a couple weeks ago, and it’s a sight to behold.
Featuring scenes from Victorian London at the time of the Industrial Revolution, the display was built by James Pegram, Jimmy Clynche, Simon Pickard, and Workshysteve
The display not only includes street scenes, great architecture, and other above-ground details, but also extensive underground detail, such as sewers, crypts, and fossils.

Even though the Micro-GARCs had it’s last race of the season it’s still great to see builders continuing and building minifigure sized Galactic Asteroid Rally Circuit racers! Thomas W. (Sylon-tw) keeps up the fun by building this wonderful Octan sponsored racer:
I really like how Thomas completes the build with this really interesting garage-hangar. I’m fascinated by the really neat techniques on the hangar doors and other wall elements. But let’s not forget the main attraction, the racer itself:
He gets bonus points from me for lovely curve integration and silky smooth bottom (gotta be aerodynamic in space, right?)
Leave it to Pascal (Pasukaru76) to see Bioshock when someone says Ma.K. (a popular mecha style with a unique visual characteristics). This Big-Daddy inspired mech is uuber cool, and is even accompanied by a miniature mechanized Little Sister.
Maktoberfest is well underway and this diorama by Kosmas Santosa really takes it up a notch! Lots of people build cool Mechs, awesome spaceships and whatnot but it really makes a build something special when the creator builds their creation into some sort of context. This one really shines. I love the vintage look of the workshop, the realistic-looking clutter and the plethora of tools laying about. The scene is awesome and the Gorilla Mech is the icing on the cake.
The sixth annual Creations for Charity sale starts today! From now until the end of November, you can buy a custom creation to help raise money to buy Lego sets for underprivileged children. Built for the MOC Olympics contest in a round focused on human evolution, Deus Otiosus created this scene depicting one of our forebears about to become a cat’s lunch. The sculpture and posing of both characters is perfect. And as an added bonus, you can even enjoy this build from all angles thanks to a handy spinning animated version.
Dane gives us a sweet triple play of great builds, with a bleak monochrome style perfectly suited to a dreary rainy Monday.
The unexpected star of the show is this twistedly twee whaling ship, chasing the last of the pygmy whales across the cold ocean.
On the other end of the grey spectrum is this sleek mech, a study in clean design and smooth lines, every inch exuding brutal intent.
Serbian builder Milan (Ultimate-Design Bricks) wanted to create a build that combined his passions for bikes and camping. So when he discovered artist Kevin Cyr’s Camper Tricycle project, he knew that was what he wanted to recreate.
Milan’s model is packed with details, and he provides a full breakdown on his website. The tricycle features front and back suspension, rear differential, 180 degree steering, working pedals and chain link drive. The camper has working doors, a retractable sunshade and a plethora of storage areas and personal effects.
Camper tricycles totally need to become a real thing! Oh wait, hills…

Built for MocOlympics on MOCpages by Space Cadet Ian Spacek. Ian has integrated lighting to make the eye and lava flow have an eerie malevolent glow adding real atmosphere to the build. I just love how all the orange glows reflect off the bottom of the tower, and of course the eye!
