Remember the post we wrote about LEGO Star Wars fan Starstreak, who knew for sure he was hot onto a never before opened box containing a rare limited edition chrome Darth Vader? This time he stumbles upon something truely remarkable. You probably guessed it from the title of the post, but see for yourself the miracle unfolding in this genuine video below!
At the BrickFest convention last weekend, BrickArms announces a new batch of prototypes of anticipated custom minifigure weapons and accessories. This is no joke, because what you see in the photos from The Enigma that is Badger and Ranger of Awesomeness are all real.

(Below): buildable ammo chain and MG42 and PPSh
(Below): Buzzgun and Flame gun

You can count on Ed Diment (Lego Monster) to build one megasized spaceship for the 30 year anniversary of LEGO Space. Unlike other SHIPs, the Sapphire Condor can deploy a remote controlled ground vehicle. Of course, you have to see it to believe it; check it out in the video below.
You can read more about the creation including a backstory and notes from the builder on the Neo Classic Space blog.
Recently an article was published on guardian.co.uk (one of the world’s leading online newspaper sites) condensing the history of LEGO in an objective but heartwarming fashion, highlighting its current success amidst the sweeping economic crisis. Click here to read it.
Never mind the recession – Lego is now so popular that there are 62 little coloured blocks for every person on the planet. Yet only five years ago this family business was on the brink of ruin. Jon Henley reports from the Danish town where it all began
This comprehensive yet condensed article touches on all the significant historical events in LEGO from Christiansen’ production of the wooden duck to the upcoming new LEGO board games. Also included are interesting facts about LEGO. Did you know that the company estimates about 250,000 adult LEGO fans around the globe and that the fastest time to build the 3104-piece UCS Star Destroyer by a team of five is only 1 hour 42 minutes 43 seconds?
…then you’ll no doubt like the Lair of the Bare-Chested Bandits by Philip Stark (Erdbeereis). This vignette depicts the crew of a strange band of pirates “known for their fondness for wearing nothing but skimpy trousers, exposing the thick, muscular and rather smelly flesh of their rugged torsos.” Join them and indulge in their merrymaking – if you’re the type.
Tyler Clites (Legohaulic) enters the podrace challenge with an unusually cool and deadly looking design. Called the Spearit, this podracer is claimed to have “no hidden weapons,” and indeed that’s for a fact.
Jarek’s (Jerrec) newest addition to his Swiss fleet is one odd but appealing starfighter called the Cobrahn. The split curvature of the ship is a technique rarely used on space creations. I remember seeing it used on Chris Malloy’s Flying Saucer but not so elsewhere. Furthermore, the shape of the fighter reminds me of Nnenn’s Nglotki fighter. References aside, I think Jarek should also be praised for his photo-processing, especially when the white bricks involved are not overexposed in the shots.
Thomas Benedikt unveils a most spectacular mega model from Star Wars: the Home One Mon Calamari cruiser. This 7 feet long creation features an integrated lighting system that adds an effect of unbelievable realism. I cannot imagine the time and skills involved in such a feat.
These impressive stats further confirm that this model will go down in LEGO legends:
– Piece Count: 30,500
– Length: 260 Studs or 208 cm or 6’10” (82 inches)
– Width: 48 cm (Max)
– Height: 28 cm (Max)
– Weight: 52 lbs (Approximate)
– Material Cost: $5500 US.

Just today, BrickForge announces 11 new items available at their shop; adding to their community of 64 unique minifig accessories.
Staying true to their roots BrickForge offers three new fantasy-style elements; the Goblin Sword, Goblin Shield and Sorcerer Staff, which provide opportunity to equip villains as they rise up against the allied forces of good.
Next are two historical accessories – the Tribal Sword & Tribal Spear are perfect for arming your indiginous natives as they defend their villages against invading conquistadors or plundering pirates.
Further down the list a new Equipment category was added to accomodate a few more utilitarian devices. The Nightstick helps keep the peace while the more menacing Crowbar may be used for more….salacious nefarious purposes. The Microphone is a simple way to showcase your favorite musical idol or give that city creation more hustle by adding a custom news crew.
Finally, a new sci-fi inspired weapon joins the MegaGun to help balance things out. The Plasma Blaster is a compact personal defense device, great for alien invasion or cosmic justice. And rounding out the release are two items bound to become fan favorites. A new backpack called the Particle Pack adds a bit more detail to an ordinary minifig and features a rear, hollow connection point as well as a side-mounted connection point and peg desgined to accomodate a variety of hoses or similar elements. The Particle Gun is a type of hand-held wand, rumored to discharge deadly streams of energy. The Particle Gun is also built with standard connection points – promoting modularity and allowing it to holster onto the Particle Pack.
Be sure to stop by BrickForge and check’em out and stay tuned for another Brothers-Brick exclusive review coming soon!
James Turley (Turkguy) has been working on a podracer for FBTB’s contest, and what a solid bar-setting entry indeed! The nonagonal design of the engies is a rare technical treat and the red stripes on it are just gorgeous.
