Fan with “X-ray vision” finds chrome Darth Vader minifig
LEGO Star Wars fan Starstreak knew for certain he was going to find a rare limited edition Chrome Vader minifig in an unopened set! At first, you might think he glued back the box, but I assure you the box was legitimately never opened. The video that he posted is too awesome to deny because it’s 100% genuine.
And by the way, he did not video-tape every box he opened :)

Interesting…
Now just to figure out the trick to easily find that $75 minifig…

You seriously blogged this? C’mon. This is not why I visit this blog.

Yeah, not my personal taste in blogged content.

I can see why, but it couldn’t get worse than this :)

You guys are just jealous… I think it’s awesome. Not sure i believe it but, it’s still fun.

Does this thing randomly come in ALL StarWars sets in 2009? I was under the impression they’d be randomly stuck in sets coming out this August to kick off the 10th anniversary.
Anyone have a clear answer on this? tks…

He must have used a postal scale to tell; a minifig in a bag would be easily detectable.

He could have weighed the box. One question, Why was this filmed in his car?
March 11th, 2009 at 12:36 am
I will not say how I did it. Maybe I bought 50 of them and filmed each opening. lol.
1) It was done in the “tone” of having fun. But I didn’t stick it in the box , I really opened it i the shot.
2) It’s supposedly in all SW 2009 sets. Random that is.
3) If its not your blogged style fine. Why do you visit a Lego blog? To find out whats new and interesting and entertaining. If you clicked on the video, it was interesting. It did it’s job. If it’s not why you come here, I hope you never clicked on it. Or you proved yourself wrong. Because at some “level” it caught your attention.
4) It was shot in my car because I just came back from the store and I couldn’t wait to open it.
5) why was this done? People said it couldn’t be found in the BP boxes. I did. Go buy 50 of ‘em I’m sure you might get one. If you don’t, maybe next time. :)

Chrome Darth Mini-fig is news worthy, who knew?
March 11th, 2009 at 7:04 am
It was probably filmed in his car because he was going to return all the boxes that weighed less.

Drama!
@Rocko: See Nannan’s response. :-P
@Proudlove: Perhaps this is more to your liking? ;-)
TBB is as much about the people behind LEGO fandom as it is about individual LEGO creations. A silly little video like this now and then fits in nicely, I think.

I’m still going to be mildly skeptical about this ;) Seems too much like a magic trick, I was waiting for the “Ta-da!” at the end

Hey, I never asked for that to be blogged! I would have said the same thing for that but I was being polite. :P
March 11th, 2009 at 3:24 pm
Hmmm… the blog entry says “And by the way, he did not not video-tape every box he opened “.
I presume that this was an expirement in fans not noticing the double ‘not’.
And then, the box opener said “I will not say how I did it. Maybe I bought 50 of them and filmed each opening.”
Gosh. What a puzzle.

That was a horrible typo (now fixed), I’d never have done something like that on purpose.

Or possibly he opened in his car because it is Lego.
Honestly are you trying to tell me you’ve never opened a lego set in your car before?
