Marco den Besten (‘Ecclesiastes) displayed his Ondylion City diorama at Lego Fan Weekend in Skaerbaek. It would take a lot of writing to point out the details; fortunately there’s a video tour of the creation.

Iron Man’s Arc Reactor
You don’t have to be a genius billionaire playboy philanthropist to make your own Arc Reactor. In fact, this one by H.Y. Leung (Mr.Attacki) with a built-in glow feature is pretty convincing.

Hylian Shield: +5 to Awesomeness
Fans of the Legend of Zelda will immediately recognize the Hylian Shield, a must have when crossing through the Goron Mines. Remi Gagne (Bolt of Blue) has masterfully recreated the Twilight Princess version. The shield emblems are spot on and brilliantly executed.
Chapter House Window by Projecto Construir
This window by Projecto Construir is mind-blowing and the level of detail is outstanding. It has been a long time since I have seen a build of this caliber. This creation is absolutely a work of art.
Bruce H., from Classic Castle says, “Projecto Construir is a Portuguese social welfare association that was founded with the support of the University of Oporto. President Romão Santos and an army of volunteers, including local LUG members, set up events at schools, hospitals and other settings where disadvantaged kids take part in large construction projects.” You can check out their homepage or their Facebook page for more information.
Many thanks to Bruce for pointing this out!
New BrickWarriors items and colors
This is long overdue, but Ryan from BrickWarriors sent me some of their new pieces for review awhile back. Unfortunately I dropped the ball. But now, along with the cool new items, he has just released new colors that look rather snazzy. As I’ve said in previous reviews of the BrickWarriors products, the quality is very good and the line of items consists of some really unique items. Go check them out!
Well Polished railway
I’ve previously blogged many of the components of Maciej Drwiega’s Polish railways display layout, but this four year project was assembled for the first time recently in Skaerbaek Fan Weekend. I’ve never made secret my love of Eastern European industrial design, so this very much tickles my heart.
It begins...
Oh, October. There are many, many things I adore about you. Your cooler weather. Your vibrant colors. The build up through the month to Halloween, and everything that comes with it.
And Jamie‘s annual Halloween figures.
Updates will be sporadic this year. Adds a bit of mystery to the whole lot. Keep an eye on his photostream for his amazing custom figures along with their presentation and back-stories.
You can also check out last year and the year before!
RAILBRICKS 12 released
The industrious RAILBRICKS team recently brought us yet another issue of their excellent magazine. This time it features layouts, and is thus probably more relevant to non-train builders, with its demonstration of landscaping and detailing. Highlights in this issue include articles on the excellent layout of Alban Nanty, the collaborative layouts of Mike Pianta (scruffulous) and me, and a community spotlight on Hong Kong’s Legend Bricks. Once again the whole team have done an excellent job on this lovely free resource.
