Drink up at the Royal Tavern!
We know Stephen Chao (obscurance) best for his great mecha, but Stephen is no less talented in other LEGO themes. This LEGO Castle creation is full of interesting angles and cool details. I’m particularly fond of the tavern’s roof.
Olympus Defense Mecha
Mark Neumann (SnowLeopard) displayed his first large-scale mecha in quite some time at BrickFest 2009 last month, and boy is it a doozy.
Gotta love that huge cannon on its back. There are tons more pictures in Mark’s Olympus Defense Mecha photoset on Flickr.
Day’s turn is over : now arrives the night’s.
Moko’s ninja mecha achieves spiritual balance before killing you
Moko‘s latest mecha combines two things that we all know are awesome: ninjas and robots. Black and silver with gold accents, the ninja mecha can seat a minifig — a masked mystery man whose identity remains unknown.
Frank the firebot douses flames, has sparkly gold buttons on his robot jacket
Frank — “Fire, Rescue Android, Revision NK” — joins two of Brent Waller‘s previous job-bots to put out fires, rescue kittens, pose for calendars, and cook chili (I presume).
Like MA-X and Earl, Frank is fully articulated at the head, shoulders, elbows, hands, fingers, waist, legs, knees and feet.
See more pictures of Frank the firebot on Flickr.
LEGO Alien Back-story Comic
Ever since I started posting my various tan alien creations, people have been asking more background on the aliens and the creations.
I’ve finally gotten around to making one up, and telling it. I tried something new, and have created a comic describing illustrating the initial encounters between the aliens and the Galactic Inquisition.
It’s my first foray into LEGO comics (or any other kind of comic writing) so I hope it reads well, and I’m sure folks will let me know if it doesn’t. [Edit] Folks have asked, so I’ve started putting up photos of the new stuff that I created for this comic.
Starfighter Contest Results
The results have been announced for the Show Us What You Got Contest over on Flickr. As one of the judges in this contest, I must say that this was an extremely tough choice. There were so many fantastic entries that it was hard to narrow things down and produce only four winners.
I’ve posted a mosaic of all the entries below, and you can check them all out in the entry thread. Don’t forget to check out the First, Second, Third, and Fourth place winners, as well.

That’s a lot of pod racers
The pod racer contest on From Bombs to Boulders From Bricks to Bothans recently ended with some amazing entries. You can see them all in the contest thread. If you’re a member on FBTB, stay tuned for the exciting rounds of voting!
Nightmarish spacecrafts of the Hellionic Conclave
Justin Vaughn (Mainman) has been using Bionicle parts from 8978 Skrall to create this novelty space faction called the Hellionic Conclave. The primary features of these diabolical creations highlight the interesting shapes of Bionicle elements mixed with the standard System bricks.
