If you prefer your pictures moving — whether it’s a funny story told with stop-motion animation, video review of a new LEGO set, or showcase for a custom LEGO model’s working features — we have your LEGO videos right here.

Clear way for a motorized tank!

Carlos Encinas creates the first motorized tank I’ve seen called the Tiger. Click on the picture to read more about the model.

Check out the video of the tank in motion!

I am impressed by the functionality of the mindstorms kit. I am coincidentally working on my own motorized tank, but it uses a basic motor. This impressive demonstration of combining robotics with system certainly inspired me to consider using mindstorms in any future endeavors at motorized things.

Danish architecture firm uses LEGO to design “LEGO Towers”

Danish architecture firm Bjarke Ingels Group recently used LEGO to showcase its design for their proposed “LEGO Towers” in Copenhagen.

According to Dezeen, the LEGO version took 250,000 bricks and 5 weeks to build.

Here’s a time-lapse video of the build process:

Brickfilming on national TV

True to word, ABC’s series I-CAUGHT aired a four-minute segment featuring brickfilms on the 11th, and within hours several copies were available on the Internet. Included were interviews with Brian Gribbon, Joshua Leasure and David Pagano, and clips from a dozen brickfilms, including my own Infinity Squared.  There is also an accompanying online article.

ABC’s new television series I-CAUGHT will be featuring a segment about brickfilmers and brickfilming on Tuesday, September 11, 9 PM EST.   The story is expected to feature an interview with four prominent brickfilmers: Lewis “Lechnology” Chen, the “Leftfielder” brothers, and Joshua “RevMen” Leasure, owner of Brickfilms.com.  The story is also expected to feature clips from my own brickfilm Infinity Squared, among other brickfilms.  More information can be found here.

Malkara 2007 in 37 seconds

These time-lapse videos of LEGO events are always cool, especially with hilarious Benny Hill music:

That’s the setup for the annual Malkara School model railroad exhibit in Canberra, Australia — an event that Peter Edwards participates in.

An interesting side note: The trains are run by MINDSTORMS. How cool is that?

Racing around Bodville with Peter Edwards

Speaking of cool videos, Peter Edwards has some really interesting creations on his Web site, including many that are motorized in some way.

Here’s Peter’s very fast LEGO slot cars are built around AFX motors:

My favorite, though, is the video of an ingenious set of “dodgem” cars:

Be sure to check out Peter’s Web site for lots more, including higher-resolution versions of these and other great videos.

Build your own Link

Okay, so the video’s a bit slow-paced, and we’ve seen plenty of video game pixel art in LEGO before, but this just makes me smile — that’s a good thing right now:

The accompanying commentary on Joystiq is also well worth a read. (Thanks again for the tip, RichardAM!)

This is a brickfilmer organized by myself and animated by myself and eleven other brickfilmers. Enjoy!
