If you prefer your pictures moving — whether it’s a funny story told with stop-motion animation, video review of a new LEGO set, or showcase for a custom LEGO model’s working features — we have your LEGO videos right here.

The secret mating rituals of the Spanish Panacotos

In a scientific breakthrough sure to win him next year’s Crafoord Prize in Biosciences, Spanish LEGO hobbyist Jesús Delgado has discovered a new species of creature populating his desk.

See more videos of this fascinating creature on YouTube and more pictures on Brickshelf.

News: Leaked video of electromagnetic device for NXT

Someone apparently snuck into LEGO R&D and managed to smuggle out video footage of a forthcoming electromagnetic device for the MINDSTORMS NXT. This is some pretty unbelievable footage:

We asked LEGO Community Team member Jan Beyer if this was for real, and he said, “We are not happy about this leak, and cannot confirm the authenticity of this video…”

Oil derrick from There Will Be Blood

Jordan Schwartz‘s latest creation is the oil tower from the movie There will be Blood. The construction of the structure is fascinating when considering how all the angles came together nicely in the final product. Way to strike it rich Jordan!

Meanwhile, there’s a clip showing that the oil derrick is amazingly functional.

Klaus and the forklift

Jas Nagra has celebrated the best safety video ever with this series of scenes involving Klaus, co-workers and a forklift. Remember, kids, safety is paramount.

Janey Cook’s microscale town/train layout

Moving microscale cable car! For some reason, teeny tiny towns entertain me greatly, and I’m in love with this one by Janey “Red Brick” Cook.

Legend of Zelda stop-motion animation by Michael Inglis

Reader Eric sends word of a great Legend of Zelda video on Kotaku (possible spoiler alert for the three of you in Uzbekistan who haven’t finished Ocarina of Time yet):

What I like so much about this is how creator Michael Inglis used all the right sound effects. Simple things like that make a huge difference. See more of Michael’s videos on YouTube.

I drink your milkshake! I drink it up!

I found the Saturday Night Live skit spoofing There Will be Blood a week ago highly amusing, but not having seen the movie yet, I never imagined the milkshake bit was actually in the movie (as I learned during the Oscars the next night)!

Sir Nadroj creates minifig versions of the entire cast (his Daniel Plainview and Eli Sunday above), while Jordan takes a different approach by putting the characters in a vignette (below).

Finally, Graeme “Littlebrick” Allen reminds us that we missed James Morr’s “There Will be Bricks” (thanks Graeme!):

Motorized Hot Rod

Brickshelf user Sariel posted a nicely built Technic Hot Rod, what’s even better is that the model can be driven around and has both steering and suspension. I appreciate creations that feature both form and functionality. Check out the model and see the video.

Unreal Tournament 3 LEGO mod

My friend Paul sent me a link to a Kotaku post with a very cool video — a LEGO mod for Unreal Tournament 3. I love how everything clatters apart when it blows up. My only disappointment is that the weapons themselves aren’t “brick-built.”

Download the mod yourself from GameBlews.

Control your MINDSTORMS NXT with an Xbox 360 Controller

RoboRealm software from Wizard Robotics enables you to use your Xbox 360 controller to control your MINDSTORMS NXT robots. How cool is that? Get the source code here. (Via The NXT STEP.)

Destroyer of civilizations

Merry Christmas to everyone from me! I present you something less joyful for those who want to deflate some overinflated holiday cheer. Tired of hearing wishes for peace on Earth? I bring you Armageddon!

This is a motorized black fantasy tank. In addition to movement, it also features a rotating infantry grinder and a self-firing weapons system. Please read the gruesome backstory on MOCpages and enjoy the youtube video.
