For some fans, comic and sci-fi convention season means making a custom costume for the event: cosplay. The character in Alysa Kirkpatrick‘s vignette is taking her construction very seriously, spending countless hours in front of a vintage sewing machine. She’s going to look so cool when it’s finished.
takamichi irie asks the viewer of this creation a very simple, very profound question: what if the Ghostbusters outsourced the creation of their equipment to Tony Stark? Looking past the cross-dimensional travel problems (or maybe this just exists in LEGO Dimensions), we would have something like this:
Not only is this a great little vignette and the idea behind it is genius, but it uses official sets to create something new. The scene looks to be the lower garage portion of 75827 Firehouse Headquarters and the Ghostbuster is a conversion of the Hulkbuster from 76031 The Hulk Buster Smash.
November brings a new major entry to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as Doctor Strange, played by Benedict Cumberbatch, will add a whole lot more magic to the expansive superhero world. Thanks to Amazon Japan, we’ve now got our first look at the LEGO version of Doctor Strange in 76060 Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum.

Tyler Halliwell is a guy who knows definitely knows his way around a bust! Renowned in the LEGO community for his amazing bust creations, Tyler’s latest character is Thanos together with the Infinity Gauntlet. Thanos is a Marvel Character who appeared in both The Thanos Quest and The Infinity Gauntlet series of Marvel Comics back in the 1990s. As a Marvel ‘baddie’, Thanos’ character has been depicted in the brick build featuring an evil grin and penetrating stare. Tyler used Lifelites (micro LEDs suitable for use with LEGO) to add a little more bling to the Infinity Gems.

While we all love the iconic minifig, it does occasionally have its shortcomings. This was apparent in the Ultron minifigs from sets like The Avengers Quinjet City Chase or The Hulk Buster Smash. That version of Ultron was just too stubby and cute to be the monolithic, metallic machine that was the Ultron we saw in the movies. Luckily, takamichi irie does the character justice with this fan-made brick-built figure.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock this week – or just aren’t that interested in the Marvel superhero universe – you’ll no doubt have witnessed all the unnecessary media drama over the shocking plot twist revealed in the latest Captain America comic book series. Even though it’s common knowledge at this point, I won’t even repeat it here, seeing how spoiler sensitive we’ve all become!
But I will report that builder Taylor Walker claims he had absolutely no foreknowledge of this news when he originally built this rather impressive (and strangely modified) life-size version of Captain America’s iconic shield. Supervillains rarely succeed, and for good reason. The minute they kill off their eternal foes, the story ends – which is why it’s so great to actually see them win! Cid Hsiao shows us one of those rare bloody victories in the form of Ultron’s throne. Here the devious robot Ultron can laugh from atop the broken corpses of the Avengers and intimidate any would-be challengers – assuming he hasn’t yet also destroyed the world, that is.
Long before Elektra and Black Widow, there was Princess Diana of Themyscira, better known as Wonder Woman. She was created in the 40s and started out fighting Axis military forces, before taking on gods from Greek mythology. A television icon in the late 70s, she’s finally getting her own movie in 2017. And why not? She’s awesome! So is this poseable figurine from Victor. The model uses a mix of Technic parts, System bricks, and Bionicle armor to create layers of texture which strike a perfect balance of toughness and femininity. The builder has chosen to arm her with a sword and shield instead of the better-known Lasso of Truth, but he has included a scale model of her Invisible Jet.
If you haven’t seen Captain America: Civil War yet, you’re doing yourself a great injustice. Not only does it show Batman V Superman how to do a hero punch-up, but it manages to be the best ensemble movie Marvel has done so far.
But today we’re here to talk about Iron Man and Captain America making an appearance in the brick, thanks to the talented hands of Tyler Clites.
While I’ve never really taken to the CubeDude aesthetic (or, worse yet, the bastardizations that are Funko Pop figurines), I really like Tyler’s rendition of the characters. They’re enough on the chibi side to be cute without becoming bobble-headed messes.
Also notice the great use of the smaller ball joints (AKA Mixel joints) on the legs. Then pan upwards to see that the shoulders don’t use the same system. I think this build is also a great example of why the fan community likes more variations of small joints in type as well as colour.

Moko has long distinguished himself as a world-class builder, but he still manages to create builds that surprise me for their elegance. His latest is a superhero named Anpanman, and while the sculpting of the supersuit is phenomenal, what really impresses is the incredible poseability. This superhero looks like he just stepped from the cover of an iconic comic book.
Minh Pham is a master LEGO customizer, and he’s long been working to create LEGO versions of Iron Man’s numerous suits — and what better way to display them than in a huge laboratory just the way Tony Stark would? See if you can pick out all the different suits, from the standard iconic suit to the rare, little-known ones.
LEGO builder AnkTales enjoys creating nifty little scenes and animating the construction process, giving viewers a look at precisely what parts go into his builds. His latest creation is a miniature Batcave to showcase LEGO’s official mini Tumbler model. You could easily build your own Batcave by watching the video.
