The Job Muller Contest, on Classic Castle, has certainly been generating a lot of great entries! Here are some of my favorites.

The Starfighters group on Flickr is hosting a “Show Us What You Got” Starfighter Contest. The rules are simple: “build an original starfighter, and make it awesome.” The prizes include custom models from Peter Morris, who’s also among the panel of judges. The contest runs until March 31st, so there’s plenty of time to perfect an entry.

The Agents of the Imperial Crown contest is certainly contributing to an uptick in the number of LEGO steampunk creations I’m seeing. Here’s a quick roundup.
V&A Steamworks goes airborne aboard HMS Earl Grey:
Rod Gillies (2 Much Caffeine) takes steampunk to China and Prussia:
Jason “JasBrick” has been posting awesome custom steampunk minifigs for a while:
Finally, the airplane Philip Stark built for his steampunk version of Gold Hunt is worth a close look (and click the pic to see the accompanying wagon):
LEGO fans submitted nearly a hundred entries to the GO MINIMAN GO Photo Contest, which made choosing the Grand Prize, First Prize, and Second Prize winners very hard.
Here are are a few of my personal favorites from among the rest of the entries.
Moritz Nolting packs a crowd of minifigs aboard a party truck, led by a dude with a monkey tattoo on his chest:
Peter Edwards constructs a lovely scene using a megalithic RCX brick:
Second Prize winner dabol_t entered nine photos in the contest. Here are my own favorites:
Fabuland, check! Maxi-figs, check! Retro car, check! This diorama by Aaron Andrews includes so many nostalgic elements, I’m about to pop! Plastic Revolution indeed.
Each of Erik Smit‘s entries was in contention for a prize in its category, and combined, they’re a truly wonderful series (best viewed large):
So, dear readers, what were your favorite entries?
Aliencat and Bluesecrets are hosting a brand-new contest over at Classic Castle.
Born in a frenzy of whimsy and late-night chatting, the Job Muller’s Contest is something unique. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is build a fictional medieval occupation, the funnier the better. I think I’m going to be entering this one….
Both Peter Norman and I have now done example designs for the previously mentioned train building challenge. Remember it closes at the end of February so if you’re planning to enter you better get cracking.
We’re very pleased (and relieved) to finally announce the winners of our GO MINIMAN GO Photo Contest!
Grand Prize goes to “The Surfer” by tiberium_blue:
Erik Smit takes himself back in time for First Prize in the 1970s category with “Me in the 1970s”:
Al Eisenbart captures the spirit of the 1980s with “Iron Maiden – World Slavery Tour Circa ’84”:
Alex Eylar keeps things musical through the 1990s with “Mid-nineties: The Rise of Indie Rock”:
“30: The Photograph” by keithcku wins First Prize in the 2000s category:

Congratulations to all the winners! And thanks to LEGO Brand Relations for generously providing the prizes and judging. Winners, we’ll be putting you in touch with LEGO for your prizes shortly.
Thanks for your patience as we stepped through the judging process. Look for my roundup of my favorite runners-up shortly as well. ;-)
Andrew Colunga shows that the black fantasy virus is capable of infecting an entire planet, and now the last survivors are desperate to escape the doomed planet in the last remaining spacecraft. Oh the horror!
If you’re wondering why there’s been an abundance of horror action on the blog over the weekend, you should check out the conclusion of Keith’s You Control the Action Contest, ending tonight. Don’t forget to come back tomorrow to cast your vote for the crowd’s favorite award.
My latest space creation goes small for SCI-LUG‘s recently ended Small Starfighter contest. Like several of the entrants, I’ve come up with a transforming design that capitalizes on the symmetrical quality of the bubble cockpit to include the third form of an atmospheric flight configuration.
What astonds me the most is the explosive magnitude of the participation in this contest that drew 84 entries. See for yourself in these three pages of well-done creations.
There’s been a barrel-full of quality Steampunk creations lately. Many are entries in the Agents of the Imperial Crown contest, but some aren’t. It doesn’t matter, they are all awesome!

Following our suggestions over the last few days, reader -greenglo- sent us a reminder that we’d missed his awesome Colossal Castle Contest VI entry titled “Everfrost Mountain Brewery”:
There are lots of great details to check out on Flickr, including detailed shots of the great green Ogre with light-up eye, but the 2-second video is what caught my attention:

And a quick production note: Josh is an administrator at Classic-Castle.com, and therefore a judge for this contest. In general, he’s avoided potential conflict of interest by not blogging CCC6 entries. The rest of us here at TBB should’ve done a better job of covering for him, but a few great Castle creations have fallen through the cracks.
