After 10 years and 20 numbered series and numerous special series, LEGO’s insanely popular Collectible Minifigures are changing up the formula a bit. Clad in vivid green packaging and first announced just two weeks ago, Collectible Minifigures 71029 Series 21 breaks from tradition by including just 12 unique characters, which come packed in new case sizes. The figures themselves tread the same ground as previous series we’ve enjoyed, with a wide variety of characters from different periods and walks of life, as varied as a boy with a violin and an Aztec Jaguar warrior. LEGO revealed today on their social media platforms the upcoming Collectible Minifigure Series 21. Consisting of 12 Minifigures instead of the usual 16 or more, the reasons for the reduced number of blind packs is not apparent at the moment. The minifigures will be priced at USD $4.99 | CAN $4.99 and available on 1st January 2021.

The Harry Potter franchise has become one of LEGO’s most popular and enduring themes, having given fans numerous iterations of most of their favorite characters since the line’s first wave back in 2001. In 2018 LEGO pointed their wildly successful Minifigures line at the Wizarding World, introducing a biggest-ever set of 22 characters from Harry Potter as well as from Fantastic Beasts in anticipation of the second film’s release with 71022 Harry Potter & Fantastic Beasts Minifigures. Now LEGO is returning with another wave, though this one is focused entirely on the classic Harry Potter series. Featuring the traditional 16 unique figures in blind bags, LEGO Collectible Minifigures 71028 Harry Potter Series 2 are available starting Sept. 1 for US $4.99 | CAN $4.99 | UK £3.49. Despite nearly 20 years of LEGO Harry Potter sets, Series 2 manages to include five characters who have never before appeared in LEGO form, along with plenty of new character designs and a nice selection of new elements.

The new LEGO 71028 Harry Potter Collectible Minifigures Series 2 revealed [News]

LEGO has just revealed the 2nd series of Collectible Minifigures for one of the most popular franchises on the planet, Harry Potter. With 16 figures to collect, it will be available come September. The Characters featured are, James Potter, Ginny Weasley, Griphook, Albus Dumbledore, Moaning Myrtle, Ron Weasley, Bellatrix Lestrange, Lily Potter, Professor Pomona Sprout, Neville Longbottom, George Weasley, Hermione Granger, Fred Weasley, Harry Potter, Kingsley Shacklebolt and Luna Lovegood

Eastwood’s lucky day

There’s never a shortage of Back to the Future and Back to the Future Part II nostalgia. However, for the 30th anniversary of Back to the Future Part III, the 1990 film gets its due respect in a LEGO remake of Doc Brown’s timely rescue of Marty McFly from Biff Tannen and his goons. Brick Grayson is the creator of this memorable western scene. The Hill Valley Courthouse (1885) is shown under construction with a wooden scaffold covering the facade. The Biff minifigure is holding the rope, while Marty (a.k.a. Eastwood), hangs at the other end. Standing near the top left of the construction site is what seems to be Marty’s great-great-grandfather Seamus McFly, wearing a derby hat. The Marty McFly from the future is wisely sourced using the cowboy torso from the series 18 CMF, along with the addition of pink arms to contrast the maroon-colored pants. The printed fringe shirt worn by Marty McFly also lines up pretty close to the LEGO version.

Your guide to the 25 new LEGO sets for mid-April 2020, including Star Wars helmets and D-O [News]

Most of us are at home right now, but if you are in a position to fill your time with some LEGO building, there are 25 new sets and items to choose from for April–with six new sets as part of a mid-month wave. Notable sets launching today are the new Boba Fett, Stormtrooper and TIE Fighter Pilot helmets, the droid D-O from Rise of Skywalker, and Collectible Minifigure Series 20.

The new Star Wars sets and minifigures are in addition to several other new sets launched earlier this month on April 1st including the LEGO Ideas Pirates of Barracuda Bay and the Technic Fast & Furious Dodge Charger.

LEGO Collectible Minifigures 71027 Series 20 celebrates the theme’s 10th anniversary [Review]

LEGO introduced the Minifigures theme back in 2010, and over the past decade the theme has wandered as far and wide as the Simpsons and a German football team. But it returns every once in a while to the lineup of strange characters and professions that started it all. The latest wave is the 20th classic numbered series, and 71027 Collectible Minifigures Series 20 will release April 19, 2020, with 16 unique figures drawing inspiration from fiction, history, and a wide variety of walks of life. They’ll retail for US $4.99 | CAN $4.99 | UK £3.49 each (US $299.40 | CAN $299.40 for a complete box), setting a new high-water mark for a non-licensed series. At Toy Fair New York today, LEGO has revealed the latest LEGO Collectible Minifigures, celebrating the 10th anniversary since they were first introduced in 2010. These will be available on April 19, 2020 and priced at USD $4.99 each. This will be the 20th installment of the regular Collectible Minifigures series (not based on a license like Disney or The LEGO Movie) to be released over the past decade.
