LEGO Bricklink Designer Program Series 3 – Lost City: Ruining a good thing? [Review]

With the start of October, LEGO is speeding up the cadence of releases from the BrickLink Designer Program. There’s five new fan-designed sets up for pre-order this month, and we’ll be digging into our advance copy of BrickLink Designer Program Series 3 – Lost City by fan designer Thomas Lajon, exploring all the mysteries within it’s 3,506 pieces. Pre-orders for BDP Series 3 will begin on October 8th at 8:00 AM PT, at which point Lost City will be available for $289.99 USD. Read on to discover if this city has been ruined for the better.

New October 2024 LEGO sets now available: Star Wars, Fortnite, Wednesday and more [News]

October is here, which means LEGO fans can expect two annual traditions among this month’s list of new releases: Holiday sets and a showstopper Star Wars collector’s item. This year, in addition to expanding the North Pole village with LEGO Icons 10339 Santa’s Post Office, LEGO offers the modern Botanical touch for your winter decor, while Star Wars fans can hitch a ride on LEGO Star Wars 75397 UCS Jabba’s Sail Barge, along with a gift-with-purchase fit for a Jedi. Also debuting this month are sets based on the video game phenomenon Fortnite, hit Netflix show Wednesday, and the upcoming film adaptation of Wicked. LEGO Winter Village Collection 40746 Santa’s Delivery Truck [Review]

To go along with the full Winter Village set this year, LEGO has released a companion set: LEGO 40746 Santa’s Delivery Truck contains 224 pieces and 1 minifigure, and will be available October 1st for US $19.99 | CAN $24.99 | UK £17.99. In the past, there have been gift-with-purchase sets that compliment the Winter Village in general, or go directly with the main set for the year – sometimes even two bonus sets, one in October and one in November. However, I don’t recall a complementary model like this that pairs directly with the Winter Village set and is separately available for purchase. Is it worth adding it to your list? LEGO Icons 10339 Santa’s Post Office – Santa would like a word [Review]

It’s turned to fall in the Northern Hemisphere, there’s a chill in the air and the leaves are turning depending on where you are, and it’s time for Halloween decor… just kidding, of course, it’s time for Christmas stuff already. There’s a Winter Village Multiverse developing between the human world and the North Pole/Santa/Elves world, and this year we get another addition to the the Santa side of the portal. LEGO Icons 10339 Santa’s Post Office contains 1,440 pieces and 5 minifigures and will be available October 4th for US $99.99 | CAN $129.99 | UK £89.99. LEGO Insiders will have early access starting October 1st. You might think, oh, of course, Santa probably gets more mail than anyone else in the world, there must be a huge facility to process it! LEGO unveils 2024’s Winter Village Collection set as LEGO Icons 10339 Santa’s Post Office [News]

LEGO continues to expand its beloved Winter Village Collection with two exciting new additions this year: LEGO Icons 10339 Santa’s Post Office and LEGO 40746 Santa’s Delivery Truck. The sets are comprised of 1440 pieces and 224 pieces, respectively, depicting Santa and his elves hard at work delivering letters via truck and hot air balloon to the North Pole. Fans can look forward to adding these festive pieces to their holiday scenes starting October 1 for Insiders (Oct 4th for everyone else), alongside LEGO Icons 10325 Alpine Lodge and LEGO Icons 10308 Holiday Main Street from years past.

LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog 77000 Shadow the Hedgehog – A shadow of the Helmet Series? [Review]

As of late, LEGO has been providing all kinds of helmets and busts on pedestals for their various IP partnerships. This pattern worms its way into the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise with LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog 77000 Shadow the Hedgehog, set to hit store shelves on October 1st. With 720 pieces, the set is available now for pre-order from LEGO.com for US $69.99 | CAN $89.99 | UK £59.99. It may also be available from 3rd party resellers on Amazon and eBay. We’ve mentioned it a few times already this year, but 2024 marks the 25th anniversary of LEGO’s Star Wars line. Everything from Ultimate Collector Series sets to promotional items has been marking the occasion. The last hurrah in 2024 celebrates an important aspect of the Star Wars theme, and a mainstay since their introduction in 2007: battle packs! 40755 Imperial Dropship vs Rebel Scout Speeder combines two classic battle packs, and re-imagines them in a 383-piece set that will retail for US $39.99 | CAN $54.99 | UK £34.99. It even comes with an exclusive minifigure!

LEGO Wednesday 76780 Wednesday Addams Figure – Spooky or Spectacular? [Review]

Ever since the premiere of the critically acclaimed Wednesday series on Netflix in November 2022, directed by Tim Burton, many LEGO fans have eagerly anticipated getting their hands on official sets. With the second season currently in production, the wait is finally over. The first of these sets getting a TBB review, LEGO Wednesday 76780 Wednesday Addams Figure, features a brick-built figure of the protagonist, which comes with two outfits from the show. The set comes with 702 pieces and will be available on October 1st for US $49.99 | CAN $64.99 | UK £44.99 and may also be found at third-party retailers like Amazon or eBay.

It’s no different at LEGO, who are releasing two festive additions to the Botanical Collection line. The more obviously festive of the two (in the Western world, anyway) is LEGO Icons 10340 Wreath, a 1,194-piece set that you can pre-order now for US $99.99 | CAN $129.99 | UK £89.99. Alternatively, it may also be available through third-party resellers such as Amazon or eBay.
