About Caylin

A life-long LEGO fan, Caylin returned to the hobby as an adult in 2003, after her mother bought her a basic creator tub as a joke. Her mother regrets this. She regularly attends BrickCon in Seattle, Washington, where she goes by the title of Prize Goddess. You can check out her flickr account here.

This post will not help your fear of dentists.

Yes, I know it’s not technically a dentist’s chair. But it looks like a dentist’s chair from the 1800s that Stephen King’s been commissioned to upgrade. Now tell me–isn’t that the stuff of nightmares?

Karf, this is all your fault. I’m not going to be seeing you for my next cleaning. And I’m not accepting you as a referral from my psychiatrist.

Now all kidding aside, I really WAS drawn to the chair. But the rest of the details are simply superb in this, too. Check it out!

Lionheart Villa welcomes you.

A year in the making, Marcos Bessa‘s Lionheart Villa is clearly a labor of love and really interesting building techniques. The siding, the curtains in the windows…everything comes together and makes this an absolutely gorgeous creation.

As Marcos points out, he’ll be returning to it later this summer to complete the interior. I can’t wait to see what he’ll do for it!

All along the Clocktower...

There’s always something that totally draws me in with well-done scenes, and the latest creation from hippotam is no exception to this. His clock tower itself is just gorgeous, and the chaos at the base of the tower is just fantastic.

A Castle on the Cliff

Real life castles tend to make beautiful LEGO creations, and Neven Cintauer presents his version–gorgeous down to the last micro detail.

The real Predjama is located in Slovenia, and was constructed in the mouth of a cave. I find the inclusion of a secret tunnel particularly interesting.

Chess in a different dimension

The best of nnenn: Hermitage

As Josh pointed out, nnenn’s influence on the LEGO community extended past his favorite theme. Hermitage is an excellent example of his more Earth-based creations.

Forestman’s Chess

The most recent Classic-Castle monthly challenge focuses on Chess (either sets or pieces)–and Aaron Dayman’s contribution is simply above and beyond. He’s crafted one side of the board as Forestmen!

Pictures of the individual pieces can be found in his gallery.

A little taste of Bricks by the Bay

While pictures and other such “on the ground” reporting are still scarce, cnet.com has posted this fantastic slideshow of photos with interviews with fans and the community coordinator, Steve Witt.

I reject your reality and substitute my own!

So…I like Mythbusters. I mean…who doesn’t? Those guys use any excuse to blow things up. It cracks me up.

So I recognized the diorama that Johnathon Gilbert posted…I even recognized the myth:

Tommy Williamson‘s first attempt at a sculpture shows just why he does what he does. Cause he’s clearly fantastic building with bricks.

Bart Willen has posted a fantastic Little Bo Peep, who may indeed have lost her sheep–but all she needs to do is look behind her.
