Octavius Troopers by Dan Sibley

Dan Sibley presents a pair of multi-armed Exploriens troopers he calls “Octavius Troopers” (nice):

Brothers Brick reader RichardAM used the Contact form to let us know about a cool brick-built Elite from Halo, by Brickshelfer Mandalore:

Thanks Richard!

News: More Summer 2007 Set Pictures

And for those of our readers living in a cave or spider-hole, or perhaps held incommunicado against your will, to Nate’s list of summer 2007 Castle box art, I’m compelled to add City, Exo-Force, Batman, Star Wars, etc. (All via Eurobricks, where you can see new pics from Creator and Technic as well.)

My favorites…

From Star Wars, 7661 Jedi Starfighter with Hyperdrive Ring (Kit Fisto!!!):

From Batman, 7786 some sort of Batcopter with Scarecrow’s biplane:

From City, 7998 dump truck:

From Exo-Force, a very large mecha:

Drum roll… The new space theme, Mars Mission[!] (Apply the exclamation point at your own discretion.) I like the drop-ship thingy:

I’ll definitely get this drop-ship, but I’ll withhold judgement on Mars Mission as a whole until we can see better pictures of the minifigs.

Hine Corp. FDX-39 by nnenn

Much less colorful but no less awesome than his last batch of mecha (previous post), mystery-person nnenn presents an all-black mecha. I don’t know what a “core-point suppressor” is, and I don’t really care to learn what transpired during the “Yulnagii offensive,” but dang is this mecha cool:

Schvatts’ Necromancer

I never thought about it, but most necromancer minifigs are male, so it’s nice to see Brickshelfer Schvatts break the mold with this custom minifig of a female manipulator of the undead:

Happy Year of the Boar!

Yeah yeah, I already posted a roundup of LEGO creations inspired by Japanese new year’s celebrations, but Soren kindly pointed out an important masterpiece I missed. Without further ado, I give you “Wild Boar Girl” by mizuki:

Have a great 2007, everybody!

New Years 2007 Japanese LEGO Creation Roundup

As I predicted in a recent post, New Years Day in Japan has brought a spate of timely LEGO creations, including many inspired by the Year of the Boar.

First up, a boar ATV by Izzo:

Next, a new years card (or nengajyou) from mumu and his wife:

Here’s another new years card from Ayucow over at Bacalogue (turning boars into vehicles is quite the theme this year):

A boar by sumi_handy’s son:

Finally, two creations by inago100. Here’s a very large batch of new years eve noodles, or toshikoshi soba (link):

And new years decorations (link):

Sun Warrior Princess by fry_slayer

Classic-Castler and MCN member fry_slayer presents a very cool “Sun Warrior Princess” custom minifig (click for gallery on MCN):

Here’s a nice shot that shows off her cool face:

You can read a LEGO comic announcing the princess’s arrival in this thread on MCN Forums.

Minifig Display Stand by Tim Gould

Have you ever wanted a nice display stand for your minifigs that doesn’t say “Star Wars” or “Sports” on it? Tim Gould (aka “Gambort”) has developed a great brick-built solution, complete with a slot in which to put a paper backdrop:
