Papercraft Star Wars Minifigs

I noticed a cool papercraft stormtrooper in Brickshelf user Obi-Wan-Stefen’s gallery, who kindly provided enough info to get to i like toys, which linked to Japanese site Piro model with instructions and templates for creating your own papercraft Star Wars minifigs:

Click the pictures above to go to instruction pages on Piro model. The instructions will be in Japanese, but they’re numbered and easy enough to follow visually.

Here’s what the templates look like:

Have fun, and let us know if you try making any of these.

Mini Star Wars Vehicles by TsoAutTmo

Builders like Moko and Chris Deck are well known for their mini Star Wars models, but occasionally other builders do something original with an otherwise well-worn theme.

Here’s TsoAutTmo’s X-wing:

Great use of the new mini-slopes and the wheels as engines. See more of his mini creations on Brickshelf.

Joe Braun’s LEGO Spacemen Adventures

Photographer Joe Braun has created a series of photographs that incorporate classic Space minifigs into real-world environments. The result is other-worldy:

Kurt Vonnegut 1922-2007

Author Kurt Vonnegut died today in New York (BBC story).

Here’s my Billy Pilgrim minifig from Slaughterhouse Five, a book inspired by Vonnegut’s experience as a prisoner of war in Dresden during World War II:

Nathan Proudlove’s Blacktron II

Those of you who saw pictures from BrickFest the weekend before last will have noticed the six-foot-long ship dominating the Space display.

Safely back home across the northern border, Nathan Proudlove presents the Blacktron II:

Yes, the hull is made from regular bricks. It’s just so big that they can curve (a technique more familiar to castle builders).

I love the stern:

This is not the Bob Loblaw Law Blog...

But Flickr user baby_elephant has a funny batch of minifigs inspired by Arrested Development (with the Bluth company vehicle, naturally):
