Revenge of the Crown Knights

After Rocko‘s portrayal of the village invasion, the good guys retaliate and take the fight to desolate fortress front of the evil goblins. I think this is the first time I see a massive tar pit in a castle diorama- excellent use of dark tones in this creation.

Spider-pig, Spider-pig...

In response to our recent post about ImpreSariO’s movie posters, reader Craig sends word of his own set of LEGO movie posters.

My favorite is The Simpsons Movie, proving once again that simplicity is often the best policy — that’s one round tile and 40% of a minifig torso assembly.

Here’s Reservoir Dogs and an Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull teaser poster:

Finally, another favorite, Jaws:

News: LEGO Shop online to be available in Norway, Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic

Klocki reports that the LEGO Store will soon be available in several new countries, starting with Poland.

Here’s the full text of the announcement from LEGO’s Jan Beyer:

Hi all, I have seen all the rumors and work with LEGO S@H and received finally the confirmation from LEGO Shop@Home that they will start new on the following markets: Norway, Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic. I think that is fantastic and please feel free to share the following statement (I know it is very short but I will get you more when I get more – also keep your eyes open) with your groups. I hope that makes you happy.
LEGO Shop at home will be opening in Poland very soon! We will communicate the launch date to you when it is confirmed.

Other countries that will follow after Poland are: Hungary, the Czech Republic and Norway.

I can hear rejoicing

Somewhat at random, here’s a lovely Polish truck from our favorite Polish builder, Mr. Zumbi:

Bloody shooting at the police station

Bigdaddy Nelson‘s recent vignette depicts a gangster’s raid on a police station. Scarface McDougal leaves a clean sweep across the front steps with his Tommy Gun. The gory effects are well portrayed.

Janey Cook’s microscale town/train layout

Moving microscale cable car! For some reason, teeny tiny towns entertain me greatly, and I’m in love with this one by Janey “Red Brick” Cook.

Nuala, magess of Earth

I honestly can’t tell one humanoid Bionicle creation from another (sorry), but the life-like foliage in this vignette of “Nuala, magess of Earth” by Brickshelfer MuffinToa is pretty darn cool. The integration of SYSTEM pieces with Bionicle is what sets this apart — particularly in the green canopy of the tree.

Thanks for the tip, reader Joey!

Steampunk Kriegerhund by Jamie Spencer

Following on his now-world-famous — and allegedly first — steampunk Dardenbahst, master customizer Jamie “Morgan19” Spencer presents his second steampunk creation, full of shiny gold custom parts and lots of gears and chains. Behold the “Kriegerhund, Sentinel of the Deutsches Reich”:

Of course, what creation from Jamie would be complete without a detailed schematic?

See more on MOCPages or Brickshelf.

Ralph Savelsberg’s 1946 Mercury Sportsman “Woody”

Ralph Savelsberg (Flickr) makes amazing airplanes, to be sure, but I also love his wheeled vehicles.

His latest car is a 1946 Mercury “Woody.” Perfect for that trip to the beach you’ve been planning for the first day of summer.

Here’s a bonus creation for all of you pining for a new airplane from Ralph — a US Navy QF-4S Phantom II:

Steampunk contest highlights

The 50 brick or less steampunk contest on Reasonably Clever has just ended. While we’ve blogged a few of the earlier entires, there’s plenty of great submissions towards the end. Here are some of my favorites:

Created by Nannan, Jarek, Chris, Jordan, and Adrian respectively.

Zoom, zoom, zoom!

Car

A little art deco, retro-future sci-fi from me. It has no name but it goes fast.

Lucy wants to be your friend

Yeah, I know, “Add value,” but I just can’t think of appropriate words to describe this giant demonic female cyborg by Brian Kescenovitz

Read Brian’s MOCPage for the chilling back story.

Baron de la Croix and his Fantastical Rocket Flying Machine!

Tim Zarki takes *punk in a different direction with this “rocketpunk” contraption, flown by the inimitable Baron de la Croix.

Who needs steam when you have solid propellant and can go a hundred times faster?
