It’s reader submission, day! :-D Peter Edwards sends us word of several new creations, including new racing pits for his track racers (above) and 4954 Model Town House rebuilt as a train station (below).

Garth rides in like a bat out of hell
Another TBB reader, Garth Danielson, sent us an e-mail today to tell us that his blog is turning into a bit of a LEGO blog lately. I checked it out, and liked his “Bat out of Hell Express” so much I came right back here to blog it myself.
I figured the engine should be the first picture in the post, but I personally like the passenger car the most — very Art Deco:
SR-71 Blackbird by Lego Monster
TBB reader mastergongfu sent us a link to new Flickrite Lego Monster‘s photostream recently, and it’s full of pictures of an awesome SR-71 Blackbird. Here’s hoping there’s lots more to come from Lego Monster.
Update: Tim informs us that “Lego Monster” is Ed Diment, already featured several times here on TBB.
Head for the Hills!
So much post-apocalyptic LEGO is set in the city that you sometimes forget what it must be like out in the boondocks for survivors (if there are any). The Head for the Hills! contest in the ApocaLEGO Flickr group has just one rule — the LEGO creation must be set outside the increasingly standard urban landscape.
Expect lots of rural post-apocalyptic LEGO creations over the next while, but one of my favorites so far is Scott Whitesell‘s “Solitude.”
RAMM Torhüter Anti-Aircraft Quadruped
I somehow missed Nick Dean‘s latest mech a couple of weeks ago, but I’m certainly glad I saw it on Brick Blogue last night. From the radar dish to the splash of red and white among all the black, this is very cool.
The Black Lodge
At first glance, it looks like Rocko made some minifigs and furniture, but wait! Study the backdrop and you’ll see that it’s brick built as well! Check out the Black Lodge from Twin Peaks.
Nnenn’s Vic Viper
It’s gone to his head
Ean (aka Arpy) is skilled at making innovative small models with both bricks and bionicle parts. Check out Craniopod NOD, a robot with an unusual head whose head casing I still can’t figure out after perusing through the images.
Two more podcasts from LAML radio
Lend your ears to two more recent podcasts from LAML radio, highlighting subjects including Bionicle and the BZP community, Perhaps Plastic Explosives– a community for the lego military theme, and a tip on how to stay on top of recent lego creations and news from the community via RSS feed.

Fresh in Frechen
Each year there is a big LEGO meeting in Frechen just outside Cologne (Köln in German) which is always a feast for lovers of LEGO models usually with a particular emphasis on town. I’m sure many galleries will be popping up to show what was there but Klaus Dobisch’s one is particularly well photographed and a good selection of excellent models.
…And to focus on the model I used above: it’s incredible. Check out the grille in particular and the flag on the roof. I’d be willing to bet fat wads of cash that that model is by Klaus.
Microscale Taipei 101
Spencer R. constructs a microscale version of Taipei 101, a 101-floor skyscraper located in Taipei, Taiwan. The model stands 31.5 inches and features a very detailed shopping center and plaza at the foot of the tower.
