Man of the (Acro)year

This one gets me right in the feels. Growing up, I didn’t have any LEGO to play with…but I did have just about every Micronauts toy ever produced. SPARKART!  has re-created one of the great characters – Acroyear – in LEGO action figure form. Making great use of Mixel ball joints, this warrior is super articulated and ready for battle. Aircraft tail fins match up perfectly with the classic helmet’s shaping, and those big chunky feet are super fashionable and provide some great stability to boot.

A cute and/or lovable droid

Whatever you think of Star Wars content of late, you have to admit they’ve been crushing it in the ‘lovable droids’ department. SPARKART! has given us a digital creation featuring the latest addition to this roster: B2EMO, from the on-going Andor show. Cassian clearly has a thing for sassy robot companions, although B2 here is a little politer than K-2SO was in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. This model is apparently capable of “squishing” to replicate B2’s hunker-down-and-hide mode, which is a cool detail. Overall it’s also a good imitation of the droid’s run-down, patchy appearance. I’m sure this won’t be the last time we see this lovable robot in LEGO form!

Nurse and protect at all costs

Who could forget all of the valiant efforts of IG-11 during season one of Disney’s streaming series The Mandalorian? With this LEGO model, SPARKART! reminds us all of IG-11’s commitment to his programming: to nurse and protect everyone’s favorite child.

We’ve got a brick-built speeder, brick-built IG droid, and even a brick-built child in this vignette. The builder utilizes some small and pretty common elements such as slopes, wing pieces, bricks, 1×1 cones, and cylinders to create a pretty sleek white and grey imperial speeder. The limited color scheme for the speeder and droid allow the sand green and tan colored elements utilized for the child portion of the build to really pop against the rest of the model. Overall this is a great build capturing an intense moment in the series.
