Nick Jensen, formerly of these pastures, builds life-size LEGO props in ways that us mere mortals can only dream of. Speaking of dreams, that’s a tangential link to his latest effort, depicting the so-called PASIV Device from the Inception film. This is the device used to administer Somnacin, which induces lucid dreaming and dream sharing of the sort seen in the movie. The gadgetry present in the case looks fantastic, and the Dots bracelets are such a perfect fit it makes you wonder if the whole thing was built around them. And if, like yours truly, you didn’t recognise the case at first, then the accessories in front of it help to drive home this mad machine’s provenance!

Game Boy Color: Get into it!
While this LEGO Game Boy Color (GBC) doesn’t play actual games, it’s still a treat to see from Nick Brick. Personally, I never owned one of these handhelds, but that has never stopped me from appreciating the look and feel of the hardware. This build captures one of the iconic bright colors of the console – kiwi green. That’s something I love about the GBC: all the different colors it came in instead of the flatter colors of the Game Boy and Game Boy Pocket. It takes some imagination and sweet designing to build this handheld out in LEGO. It looks like you can just flick the power switch and hear that iconic chime before playing whatever game you want. Personally, I’d love to throw The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening DX into this thing and play around on Koholint Island.
That’s “Lola”. “L0-LA59” if you’re nasty.
Any new Star Wars property is pretty much guaranteed to include at least one new highly-merchandisable droid friend, and the new Obi-Wan Kenobi series is no exception. Nick Jensen has (swiftly!) created an amazing likeness of the adorable L0-LA59 out of LEGO, complete with articulated wings and buzz-saw blade. I particularly like the use of the opalized transparent blue dish and Mysterio helmet elements.
The lightsaber of Rey Skywalker
Legend tells of a woman of bravery and courage, who defied the resurrected Emperor and changed the heart of the First Order’s villainous leader. Her lightsaber, seen here in LEGO form built by Nick Brick, is all that we have left of her.
Some of the LEGO lightsabers I see online are fine but are built rather rudimentary without any standout features. Nick Brick doesn’t do that. I really like his use of small bricks to build out the detail of Rey’s lightsaber. See the emitter at the front of the hilt? Just incredible. The wrapping in the middle is also a clever touch, just like Rey’s lightsaber in The Rise of Skywalker had.
Both in detail and overall, this is a fantastic lightsaber and one of the best I’ve seen.
An Old Lady you really want to cradle in your arms
Music is cool. Electric guitars are cool. Brian May, the guitarist for Queen, is cool. The Red Special, the electric guitar that Brian May designed and built with his father is very cool. You know what else is cool? LEGO. And here’s something very, very, cool – Nick Jensen‘s stunning 1:1 replica of the Red Special in LEGO.
