Mech Bay Zero
Whew, back to normal blogging! We’ve missed highlighting a few non-BrickCon related creations over the weekend, but we’ll get to them.
Aaron Andrews (DARKspawn), who’s normally a castle builder, switches fancy and builds a big mech bay instead. It’s sufficient to say one might say that he’s been up to building mecha all his life, but that’s just because this Aussie builder is incredibly talented. Enjoy the creation before Aaron surprises us with something else!
Tekka Croe goes decal-crazy
Tekka Croe apparently spent 3 hours applying 41 decals to this very cool racer mech:

G&K Aeureon MkIII mecha by Jas Nagra
This gorgeous mecha by Jas Nagra evokes favorites by Soren Roberts or Izzo.
That’s a big complement, to be sure, but I like Jas’s mecha for what sets it apart from all of those — the knee joints in particular:

Racer Mechs roundup
The racer mechs started by Legohaulic have inspired various versions created by other builders. The simple and sturdy design of the basic frame (building instructions) allows for much diversity to these runner machines, as you can see below.

2009 Lego lines officially announced [News]
Toy News Online has published information on upcoming product lines for 2009. The big news is Power Miners, but there is news on Bionicle, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Tiny Turbos and more!
Launching in January, Power Miners will have year-round marketing support including a full PR campaign focused on the childrens’ press, online marketing, Lego Club campaign and in-store promotions.
Power Miners features a team of miners that dig into the Earth’s crust and encounter half-rock/half-crystal monsters. The range features collectible vehicles and mini-figures and monsters.

Mech racing
Tyler Clites (Legohaulic) invents a novel concept of mech racing on these two-legged swift racing runners. You can even build and customize your own racing mech from the basic frame design that Tyler has provided. From what I can tell, this design offers many points of articulation and is sure to be sturdy. If you don’t believe me, try one out for yourself!
