Mecha without expression
This mecha by Nathaniel Shields is called Without Expression, but to me it looks full of character. The use of the tire is intriguing.

As best stated by the builder, Huib Versteeg (spacie 11), “this monstrosity will either blast the enemy into a trillion bits or devour it. And if it doesn’t do either of those, well, then it’s malfunctioning and should be disintegrated.”

Turtlin’ around
It seems that Ed, Chris and Gary aren’t the only Brits to have been busy lately. Pete Reid (legoloverman) has also been constructing this highly detailed and well animated turtle factory. And Chris Salt has been busy making a properly edited film of it. I approve.

Girlpocalypse Now
I’m back from BrickCon, and ready to unveil the only new creation I’ve built since July. I had the funky idea to build this one evening, and actually had the time to do so. I figured that the post-apocalypse building scene could use a little more levity, and what’s better than cheerleaders to bring some cheer? Of course, I had to try to build a stereotypical cheerleader vehicle, which pretty much had to be an open top jeep or a VW cabrio. Then I added the legs, to make it more interesting, as well as ridiculous.
At the behest of a friend, I brought the creation to BrickCon, and took photos of it on as many cool creations as I could manage. I didn’t anticipate the big response it got, so don’t be surprised to see some more girls of the apocalypse from me (nurses anyone?).
RX-78 Gundam
Peter C. (PeteCorp) based this Gundam model not on the series but on the 1:1 scale model found in Shizuoka. He’s also made a descriptive video (longer youtube version) for it. Utterly exceptional work at such a tiny scale.
Devastatingly good looking
It all seems to be a bit quiet here at the moment. Luckily Aaron Dayman made the Devastaku a little bit back which has some lime and purple for us to ogle.
Raideen will save the world
Adrian Drake (Brickfrenzy) is bringing his colossal super robot Raideen to our Big in Japan display at BrickCon. I think it will look very nice standing next to Mark Sandlin’s Mazinger Z, both of which are based off the Teknomeka frame.
Ever Awesome Poison
It is a well established fact that lime is ever awesome. This makes Andrew Lee’s (onosendai2600) Poison Arrow even more ever awesome. Built for the closing-soon Clunker and Alien Mecha Contest.
Action!
Hans Dendauw (Tigmon74) has done a great job of capturing a moment with this diorama. The chunks flying look great, and I absolutely love the tumbling speeder bike and driver. He also seems to have used a blacklight to give the trans neon bits a bit of a glow.
