Brian Kescenovitz (mondayn00dle) brings us a fantastic little mecha. The first thing that struck me was the bulbous cockpit area, shaped out of bionicle pieces, it’s an awesome shape and great use of parts. The mecha also features some great piston-like details along the legs, interesting weapons, and an overall futuristic military feel I enjoy.
Last Friday the video announcement for the Exo-suit was posted, and now you can see the photo of the box art for the set and a comparison shot with Peter Reid’s original model. The set retails for $34.99 and is available August 1st. There is a highly limited supply, which means LEGO will not make more once the initial production sells out.
This spider tank by Christopher Basset looks ready to roll into combat. The tank’s pose and the camera angle really makes the model come alive.
Once again, I have spotted something, and then waited a week to post it. Once again, I still think it’s worth the post, and worth waiting for. I give you Red Boots, a mecha by Torokimasa. The builder had blended smooth curves and chunky greebles to great effect. He’s also made nice use of Bionicle/Hero Factory bits, especially at the knees. I bet this would be really fun to pose in an inner-city battle.

War. War never changes, but sometimes it’s reimagined. In this case, Kosmas Santosa has taken the Titanfall video game Mech and placed it back into World War 2 with this chillingly well execute build and backdrop.
Most people would be extremely satisfied building such an awesome mech, but Kosmas has taken this to entirely new level by adding such a stunningly built background:
It’s a good week for small mecha, as hot on the heels of the previous gundams we have a double fistful of pintsize brawlers.
In the green corner we have the Triple-M by Devid, coming at you like a mullet, all lethal armor in the front and human burrito in the back.
And in the teal corner is the Mech with No Name from Guy Smiley, warming up for the match with a fleshie punching bag.

If you enjoyed the sweet Gundam by Micah Berkoff (Arkov.) yesterday, prepare for its adorable little brother, the Chibi Gundam by Patrick Biggs. Both employ similar techniques, so the scale difference makes them fun to look at side-by-side.
This Bionicle Gundam by Micah Berkoff (Arkov.) has all the right proportions, color blocking, and a sickly slick scythe.
This isn’t the first model of a Reaper featured here on The Brothers Brick, but it still warrants highlighting. Ben Caulkins (Benny Brickster) had done a great job of capturing the look of the largest space borne Reapers in the Mass Effect games. The creepy legs and eyes of the machine are perfectly represented.
Through the leaning pose of this futuristic rider, and the outstretched limbs of his steed, Hungarian builder and artist Kristof (legoalbert) manages to impart a beautiful sense of motion to this creation using relatively few bricks. It’s not hard to visualize the leaping gait of this long-legged robot as it efficiently navigates the obstacles of some other-worldly landscape.
But the poetic backstory to this figure really completes the piece and leaves me wanting to see more of the savage world in Kristof’s imagination:
“Dark cloaked shadow-men patrol the wilderness of the Afterworld, roaming around on their tall artificial mounts. Swiftly rushing trough the densest of the forests, zig-zagging on the streets of the dead cities, they’re only vulnerable to the Vultures of the Plain, out in the endless grassfields, where the Insectmen rule.”
Dane Erland (Mechanekton) has been ladling out delicious servings of mecha goodness in a distinctly stubby and bulky style. The most recent of these has a name best not repeated in either polite or impolite company, so I’ll let the picture do the talking.
And harking back to a simpler time (aka four months ago), Dane posted this duo of deadly tin cans brimming with character.
