2017 Marvel Superheroes Mighty Micros unveiled [News]
Just two days ago we revealed the next wave of Mighty Micros for DC, and now we have the Marvel variants to go along with them. The Twitter post announcing this morning them didn’t include names, but looking at the pictures we assume they will be Iron Man Vs. Thanos, Spider-man Vs. Scorpion, and Wolverine Vs. Magneto. Like the DC versions, these will probably be on display at at San Diego Comic Con in July and will retail for $9.99 USD.
They look awesome, don’t they?
The Hulkbuster? No. This is the Ghostbuster.
takamichi irie asks the viewer of this creation a very simple, very profound question: what if the Ghostbusters outsourced the creation of their equipment to Tony Stark? Looking past the cross-dimensional travel problems (or maybe this just exists in LEGO Dimensions), we would have something like this:
Not only is this a great little vignette and the idea behind it is genius, but it uses official sets to create something new. The scene looks to be the lower garage portion of 75827 Firehouse Headquarters and the Ghostbuster is a conversion of the Hulkbuster from 76031 The Hulk Buster Smash.
First look at Marvel’s Doctor Strange LEGO sets [News]

Thanks to Amazon Japan, we’ve now got our first look at the LEGO version of Doctor Strange in 76060 Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum.

Captain America & Red Skull race around on their speeders
What if Captain America and Red Skull were characters in Star Wars instead of the Marvel universe? Hey, it’s not inconceivable… And what vehicles would they ride? tankm answers these questions with a great pair of speeders. The Cap sits astride what would be more properly called a “swoop,” while Red Skull scoots around in an utterly fantastic retro-futuristic air speeder. As much as I love Captain America (or at least I did…), I’m rooting for Red Skull today due to the sheer awesomeness of his ride.
Incidentally, our friends over at FBTB are hosting a Themed Speeder Bikes contest, which runs through the end of the day tomorrow. Given how small speeder bikes are, there’s still time to enter.

Big-headed racers streak into the lead
Monsterbrick has posted a whole series of lovable big-headed racers using parts from the latest large-scale “constraction figures“. First-up we have a cracking Jango Fett who could have driven straight out of a new Mario Kart-style Star Wars racer (now there’s a game I’d snap up tomorrow)…
Other than the big-headed bounty hunter, my favorite of the lot is probably this supercute creation. Cap has never looked so adorable…
There’s not a whole load of complicated building techniques going on here, these are just pure good fun. I highly recommend you check out Monsterbrick’s Flickr stream to see the entire series.
This isn’t the first time someone has mixed the constraction heads with regular LEGO System scale bricks. Check out this Jangbricks video on YouTube.
Light-up War Machine figure stands ready to take on Captain America
We all know that LEGO minifigs have strange proportions — ones wearing large helmets even more so. George Panteleon has built a rather impressive War Machine figure that uses the standard minifig helmet, and it looks just about perfect. Beyond the overall proportions, though, George has incorporated a working light into the suit’s chest using a Power Functions LED, all impressively presented on a backdrop of broken concrete. War Machine definitely looks like he’s ready to take on Cap in Captain America: Civil War.
George says his War Machine figure was inspired by several other builders. Be sure to click the photo to read more about the build.

A few of the 2016 LEGO Superhero sets have finally been unveiled.
76049 Avenjet Space Mission
The similarities between this set and 76028 Darkseid Invasion are striking: four minifigs, a bigfig and some kind of vehicle. Heck, Dark Seid and Thanos even share the honour of a little floating platform to ride about in. Marvel fans can start jumping for joy now at Hyperion, Captain Marvel, Mark 39 Iron Man (also called “Gemini” and “Starboost”) and a space-going version of Captain America getting the minifig treatment. The Mad Titan Thanos comes to us as a bigfig, and he actually looks impressively good.
76048 Iron Skull Sub Attack is a very similar concept… except under water. Mark 37 Iron Man (“Hammerhead”), scuba Captain America, Red Skull and a Hydra diver are the minfigs accompanying a rather bulky submersible towing a cage. The armour on the Iron Man seems to be a recolour of the piece used for the minifig-scale Hero factory figures.

I’m personally more than a little excited for some new Iron Man, what’s everyone else looking out for?
We are Groot.
MikMikEternity gives us this wonderful custom Groot minifigure. The detail and sculpting are impressive. He says he sculpted the additional pieces and painted by hand. I love the weathered, wooden look and the subtle greenery all over Groot. There is so much character.
LEGO Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy
Sean and Steph Mayo just posted the most adorable Baby Groot (Sapling Groot?) ever. It was for a commission and I have to say that the new owner is very, very fortunate. I am Groot!
You should also check out two other versions by Jack M and Tyler. We’ve highlighted Tyler’s Groot before, but missed the boat on Jack’s.
Iron Man tile mosaic
Spending three months and using 3500+ tiles, this stunning 144×96 stud mosaic by Brickmoc makes me want to crank up some Black Sabbath.
