LEGO Star Wars 75406 Kylo Ren’s Command Shuttle – The Kylo ship that isn’t Reylo [Review]

LEGO and Disney haven’t been highlighting the Star Wars sequel trilogy much in recent years, but with The Force Awakens celebrating its 10th anniversary this summer, we are getting a pair of new sets based on the trilogy’s bright spot and villain Kylo Ren.  75406 Kylo Ren’s Command Shuttle is the latest addition to the midi-scale Starship Collection and follows the two minifigure-scale versions that coincided with episodes VII and IX. Containing 386 pieces, the set will be available on May 1 and will retail for US $69.99 | CAN $89.99 | UK £59.99. Should we let the past die, kill it if we have to, and embrace the dark side and all the black elements that come with it? Together we’ll find out. Join me… please?

LEGO Art revealed as mosaic sets of The Beatles, Marilyn Monroe, Star Wars Sith and Iron Man [News]

LEGO has revealed an entirely new product line of mosaic sets featuring pop culture portraits called LEGO Art. The four initial sets revealed include Iron Man, Marilyn Monroe, The Beatles, and Star Wars Sith. Each of the adult-targeted sets contains an average of 3,250 pieces, a new brick separator, several new elements, an exclusive signature tile, and instructions and extra parts to build 3 or 4 different designs per set. Each set comes with a curated building soundtrack, and as an added bonus, three copies of either the Iron Man or Star Wars sets can be combined to make an “ultimate piece” triple the size of a single portrait.

Each LEGO Art set comes in a box the size of a pizza and will retail for US $119.99 | CAN $149.99 | UK £114.99. The Iron Man portrait will be available globally (including the US) exclusively from LEGO on August 1st. The other three portraits will be available globally from LEGO and various retailers starting August 1st, except in the US which will have to wait a month until September 1st.

Supreme Leader Kylo Ren’s new headgear

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hit theatres just a few days ago and LEGO fans have already started to produce some amazing creations. One that stands out is Petros Nicolaou’s rendition of Kylo Ren’s helmet. While I was a fan of how it was destroyed in The Last Jedi, I love how it was reforged in a Kintsugi kind of way in The Rise of Skywalker.

The repaired helm adds an extra level of beauty and badassery. And as cool as it looks on film, it looks just as cool represented in LEGO. The shaping of Kylo Ren’s unbroken helmet would itself require some skillful parts selection to achieve all the right angles and shaping. Add in the veins of red keeping it all together, and any builder would have an extra difficult challenge of them. It seems Petros was up to the challenge though. Take a closer and see that all the pieces seem to fit together.
