Mushu is almost certainly my favorite Disney character, and this hilarious sculpture by Mike Nieves (Retinence) is perfect. I’m amazed that Mike was able to effectively pull off such a spindly creature while maintaining enough structural integrity for it stand.

Dragon piloted mecha
We’ve seen a lot of mecha and drones recently, but this one by Lu Sim (Messymaru) is just too cool to pass up. It has some great shaping and articulation, and I love the little trans-neon-green highlights. But what totally made me stop and clap was the mecha’s pilot: a LEGO dragon. Yes boys and girls, this dragon mecha, has a dragon inside!
I wasn’t the only one to think that dragon mecha was a great idea – Garry built a green dragon mecha too.

Ninjago Overlord Dragon
Green Dragon
I just got back from BrickCon and this beauty, from Tim Goddard (AKA RogueBantha), was waiting for me. Lovely, lovely work. The flexible neck and tail are nice, tight work and I’m very happy that he filled the wings in with actual plate rather than the paper or cloth solution that some people have used.
Stormbringer
I think it’s rather trite to say that something “doesn’t look like LEGO” — it’s a lazy statement and plays into the non-building public’s perception that “LEGO these days” is “overly specialized” and “doesn’t foster creativity.” Also, we try not to feature the same model twice.
Nonsense, all of it. Just look at this amazing dragon built by aurore&aube.
This new version includes much-improved horns, and arms posed as if the dragon were about to leap into the air.
That is one dazzling smile you’ve got there
Perhaps there is a hint of minty-freshness? Regardless of your opinion of Shrek (or the second one…or the third one…did they make a fourth?) the sculpting on this lady dragon by gtahelper is simply lovely. The coloring’s fabulous. I want to see a scaled Donkey to go with!
The builder included a helping of adorable little donkey-dragon babies, and they’re pretty adorable, too. Check em out!
