We have not run a contest here at The Brothers Brick for quite some time. We, the editors, have decided to change that. Therefore, we would like to present to you, our loyal readers, the “A Mime is a terrible thing to Waste” Contest.

Been feeling the need for random violence? Need to find some use for those Mimes you got in Series 2 of the collectible minifigs? Now is your chance.

Colossal Castle Contest VIII is here! [News]

Classic Castle’s annual medieval extravaganza is upon us!

This is the eighth year this contest has been run and the entries have grown in quality and quantity every year. The contest runs from November 1st to December 31st and features 11 categories. As an added bonus, the builder who scores the highest in at least six categories will be named Classic Castle’s Master Builder and recieve a special prize. Village in Microscale

Rod Gillies‘ entry to Classic-Castle’s Mini Castle Contest is simply fantastic. The techniques he uses are wonderful–the Exoforce hair as a deciduous, Technic pins as crops. But what REALLY catches my eye is the mini tudors. They just…work.

Join the revolution and control the action

Keith Goldman presents the 4th installment of his You Control the Action Contest with revolution as the theme. As usual, build a diorama depicting action and you can win eternal glory (among other prizes). The deadline is January 1st, 2011, so you have plenty of time to plot your rebellion. Viva la revolución!

Atlantis in Micro

The entries for Classic-Castle‘s Mini Castle Contest VI are starting to crop up, including Rod Gillies‘s study of Atlantis before the whole sinking incident. The whole thing is just gorgeous and completely captures a water-front city in its heyday.

Build a Minifig-Mobile over at BCN [Contest]

Brick Comic Network (BCN)’s putting a new twist on the excitement over the Series Two Collectible Minifgures! They’re hosting a contest, where the challenge is to build a vehicle to suit the needs of one of the Series Two Minifigures.

All contest rules can be found here. The deadline for entries is 11:59pm CST on September 19, so get those vehicles built!

Chris Malloy just posted this incredible battle at the bottom of the sea. It’s quite a lovely build. The lighting is exceptional.

Castle has the Blues

Matthew Hurt just posted this nifty island castle. As it is a response to the Primary Color Challenge, on Classic Castle, it has lots of blue. Surprisingly, that gives it a rather elegant flair. I’m liking it.

FBTB presents MOC Madness 2010 Building Tournament [Contest]

If you’re looking for a good bounty, suit up and enter the MOC Madness Building Tournament hosted by FBTB. Build a bounty hunter and bounty hunter ship and you could win some awesome prizes including a white Boba Fett minifig. Each qualifying entry advances tournament style so you can root for your favorites, or better yet, be the favorite.

Design the cover of the LEGO Shop’s holiday 2010 catalog [Contest]

The US LEGO Catalog is holding a Design Challenge to find the cover for the Late Holiday Catalog. Entries can be submitted now through August 8th. Enthusiasts ages 5 and older are invited to submit an idea for a new LEGO creation.

Contest Overview:
Develop your new LEGO creation using a maximum of 100 LEGO bricks and/or elements. Then, submit a photo or image of your creation along with a brief description of your creation (50 words or fewer). You may build your creation using physical bricks and elements or you may develop your creation virtually, using LEGO® Design by ME. One Grand Prize winner will be determined in each of the four age categories: ages 5-8, ages 9-12, ages 13-15 and ages 16 and older.

The Prizes:
Winner’s creation will be featured in the Late Holiday 2010 edition of the LEGO® Shop-at-Home Catalog issued in November. In addition, winner will receive a $100 LEGO® Gift Card (redeemable at any LEGO® Store, online at shop.LEGO.com, or through the LEGO® Shop-at-Home Catalog), a $50 LEGO® Design by ME gift card, a Sponsor-specified LEGO® set and a LEGO® Certificate of Achievement. (The approximate retail value of each Grand Prize is $200). Sponsor will select, at its sole discretion, one of the winning creations to be featured on the cover of the catalog. There is no monetary value associated with winner’s submission being featured in the catalog or on the cover of the catalog. Prize consists of only those items specifically listed as part of the prize.
