The half-timber house presents a nice contrast to the stonework, and I love the tree-lined street. Go Crown Knights, go! (Though I think the goblin horde is pretty darn cool.)
Ever since SlyOwl‘s demonstration of a technique for straw roofs in his Nassau Port, we see the technique again in Cheddar Gorge. But in addition to the innocent looking scene, there’s some pretty crazy stuff going on inside. Please heed SlyOwl’s warning that vegetarians should look away.

When the dead rise from their graves to destroy the living, dark magic must be afoot (or it’s the solanum virus, but that’s a different story). Dave Lartigue illustrates one such incident in his “Assault on the Necromancer’s Tower” diorama. Here’s the tower:

Reader Andrew pointed out the flowers as blood, but that’s not the only cool detail. The cannonball embedded in the wall, the splashing fire, and the different textures of the wall are all great, but I’m sure there’s more all of you out there can point out.

EDIT: Commenters over on Gizmodo point out that this is a 6:1 scale model, not just 6x bigger, which means that it’s actually 216 times as big as the original!
