New stuff by Brent Wolke (thwaak) has been absent for far too long but he has, at least, made a lovely return. The Blunderbuss provides a welcome return to his world of Magic Punk.

The Medieval astronaut
Apparently astronauts did exist many hundreds of years ago. Crises shows us that it doesn’t take rocket science to launch an enthusiastic natural investigator high into space.
Felix is back, and he’s building castle
Long time spacer, turned sculptor, turned non-builder, Felix Greco has returned to the brick, and now he’s building castle creations. He’s built a cute little cottage, with some stone work that I think adds a nice touch of realism. I’m also a fan of the way he made the lattice windows on the first floor. The fact that it’s home to the “ice cream knocker over-er” just adds to my delight.
I may not know castle...
But I know what I like. Daniel Z has created a very cool castle scene. I know that the buildings in the middle ground are from the Medieval Market set, but that doesn’t detract from the cool original aspects of this creation. Daniel has managed to stack several layers of detail into a small space, giving a fantastic sense of depth. Don’t forget to check out the crooked rocks either!
Dragon Boat by Stephen Chao
Dragon Boat Racing is really something to see. Something about the beautiful boats, the splashing and the spray, the fierce competition….quite a rush! Stephen Chao‘s rendition definitely does justice to these colorful speed demons of the water.
I like robots too
Tim isn’t the only guy around here who likes a good LEGO rendition of a robot. Tadashistate has posted a new robot that’s quite interesting. The neck guard is a really nice touch, and the weapons are quite original and different.
Job Muller Roundup
The Job Muller Contest, on Classic Castle, has certainly been generating a lot of great entries! Here are some of my favorites.

Richard McCarthy enters the Job Mullers Contest with the “WhiteKnight Pacifist Supply.”
Richard has incorporated cool techniques like a building angled against the base and a big barrel built from tubs. Check it out on Flickr or click through to Richard’s blog for detail and interior shots.
Splish splash, mish mash
Shannon Sproule (Ocean) plays with Giovanni Seynhaeve’s mish-mash Aquastlenauts theme and makes one of the coolest creatures I’ve ever seen in LEGO. There is just so much character in this entire scene.
TT Games announces LEGO Battles for Nintendo DS, due Summer 2009 [News]
TT Games‘ publisher Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment just announced LEGO Battles for Nintendo DS. The game is due out this summer, and will apparently emphasize building in original themes over the movie-based and comic-inspired adventures of games like LEGO Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and Batman.
Check out this graphic of LEGO Pirates in action:
The game will also feature LEGO Castle:
Though the press release didn’t include an image, the game will also allow players to build Space creations.
Here’s a bit more:
LEGO® Battles offers a new kind of “build and battle” LEGO gameplay. Through six distinct story lines, players build their own LEGO bases and battle teams as they engage in over 70 different levels, mixing and matching units to create the ultimate customized LEGO squad. These unique LEGO battles teams see pirate swordsmen fighting side-by-side with wizards and aliens; dragons battling ninjas; and pirate ships launching broadsides against spacecraft and knights! Players can also challenge friends on the battlefield in multiplayer mode through wireless DS multi-card play.
And in case you missed it farther down the page, TT Games is hiring!
Announcing the Job Mullers Contest [News]
Aliencat and Bluesecrets are hosting a brand-new contest over at Classic Castle.
Born in a frenzy of whimsy and late-night chatting, the Job Muller’s Contest is something unique. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is build a fictional medieval occupation, the funnier the better. I think I’m going to be entering this one….
Overland Wayside Landing
Foamrider recently posted a cute little flying rock. This one supplies a long-overlooked need. Namely a rest stop for those overworked denizens of the sky, the messenger owls!
I wish I had a messenger owl that I could overwork….
