…as Nelson Yrizarry shows us, in this historically accurate recreation. No wonder this one needed a little extra “courage”. I’ve always felt sorry for bus drivers. It’s nice to see that kids haven’t changed.

Ye Olde Contest for the Medievally Challenged
Rocko is hosting a contest! It’s a Castle Contest for those who don’t usually build Castle. Veterans need not apply. So get your permission slip signed and start building!
Islands in a Sea of LEGO
Chris Edwards (cjedwards47) recently uploaded photos of his fourth LEGO island, which incorporates something I’ve never seen before in a LEGO creation — dripping water.
The dripping water below the overhanging rock stands out, undoubtedly, but the island has lots more to offer the LEGO visitor. See more photos in the full photoset on Flickr.
Castle Rockenstein rocks the medieval world
Well folks, Rocko‘s at it again. This time the castle is based off of the dynamic Lichtenstein Castle, and he sure depicted the drastic rise of the high tower and captured the sublime.

LEGO Harry Potter Video Game announced at E3 2009 [News]
It’s no surprise that there’s lots of video game news this week. The industry expo, E3, is happening June 2 through 4 in Los Angeles, California. Today’s big news is the announcement by Warner Bros. and TT Games of LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4.
No details on platforms or a more specific release date than “2010”.

Wolfpack ... in space!
Combining two classic LEGO themes often results in something really cool. The QRT-39 Arufa Dansei “Alpha Male” fighter by Daniel Drisdelle mashes up the classic LEGO Castle theme Wolfpack with Space.
Windmill by the sea
Brickshelf user 3730 presents a scene with classic castle structures and building techniques; however, the varied topography of this creation really sets it apart from the rest. The footpath that leads from the bottom corner to the top ties everything together nicely.
Mortus Mortimer resurrects the Big One
With purple flames spewing from an undead dragon, this diorama by Dean Hofmeyer (Unique Name) features an ill-tempered necromancer named Mortus.

Estuary Stronghold
After five months, Bryan (The Eggplant Wizard) has finally completed his Estuary Stronghold project, which is a tribute to Erik Brok and his Estuary Stronghold.
For more details and info, check out Bryan’s construction journals on this masterpiece.
The siege of Hrothingas castle
Daniel Z takes his castle evolution project and turns it into a full-scale action-blown battle scene for the Battles Contest on Classic Castle. With that I think there’s no need to fight now, the battle is over!
New LEGO Space Police, Castle, Power Miners, Agents 2.0 now available [News]
The mid-2009 LEGO sets are now available from The Official LEGO Shop online, including the brand-new LEGO Space Police theme — a theme that has the fingerprints of Mark Stafford and Adam Grabowski all over it.
Two of the smaller sets make it easy to get a couple of the unique new aliens from this theme.
The VTOL police vehicle below includes an alien with four arms.
LEGO Castle fans are sure to shout for delight at the availability of the newest sets, including this massive fortress full of goblin and troll minifigs, along with a couple smaller sets.
The newest LEGO Power Miners sets feature a massive drill (8964 Titanium Command Rig) and the new, larger rock monsters.
LEGO Agents gets a reboot in LEGO Agents 2.0. With the cool minifigs that I love this theme for, the line includes a hilariously awesome mecha.
Finally, five new LEGO City sets are also available, including 7641 City Corner with its six-wide city bus.
Here’s a partial list of new sets that are available:

He’s got legs!
74louloute is quite the poser, at least with this figure. The combination of unusual joint connections enables this knight, dubbed Sir Hruodland, to strike a rather heroic pose.
I think he’s coming after us, don’t you?
