Some LEGO builders elevate the form to fine art in its own right, while others enjoy reproducing famous works of art with the brick. Find beautiful and thought-provoking LEGO artwork right here.

Arvo’s Chestburster from Aliens

The latest LEGO creation by the Arvo brothers features a chestburster emerging from some unlucky person, complete with pooling blood dripping off of the sculpture’s base.

Album Art by Taka Hamada

I’ve featured LEGO album art by Digger Digger Dogstar and minifig, I don’t think I’ve ever highlighted Taka Hamada’s extensive collection.

A small plug: my brickfilm Beast (watch it here on YouTube), second-place winner in the Brickfilms.com Fame, Infamy and Glory contest, has been nominated for Best Sound Design. I’m honored, but also amused. I hated doing the sound for Beast, especially since I was working with Windows Movie Maker 2 at the time, and had to struggle with only one audio track.

The BAMPAs have a seperate website, but it hasn’t been updated in a while.

Contemporary Art, LEGO’d

Classic-Castle member brody has discovered an art exhibit in the U.K. by John Cake and Darren Neave (aka “The Little Artists”) that recreates various pieces of contemporary art in LEGO bricks.

Read more about the exhibit, titled “Art Craziest Nation,” on the Walker Art Gallery Web site. Here are a couple of previews.
