Mihai Marius Mihu has rapidly become one of my favorite builders. When I saw the ‘work-in-progress’ pics, I was immediately looking forward to the finished build. Even then I was unprepared for how stylish the final creation turned out to be. I’ll avoid the obvious pun and just say that this is one beautiful build.

Night of the Living Drone
Chris (Ironsniper) brings us the Циклоп, a strange twisted amalgam of parts that have no business fitting together as well as they do.
And too cool not to mention is the Ravager, a more conventional drone posted by Chris a few weeks ago.
This is also your weekly reminder that the madness that is Droneuary is in full swing! I speak from personal experience when I say that these bite-size bots are much trickier to build than they look.
Beast Quake, 12th Man, and the Seahawks
I can’t say I’d ever imagined blogging a sports-related creation, let alone football. It’s just not my thing. But TBB perennial favorite Iain Heath presents the Beast Quake, referring to the roar of Seattle’s home crowd that registered seismic activity in the region. You know. Typical Seattle stuff.
Anyway, here it is in its blue and green glory.

Friday Night Fights (Round 31)
Happy New Year Fight Fans! It’s 2014 and we have a long season ahead of us. For tonight’s fight we bring you the duel of the dragons. Let’s go to the tale of the tape:

Eh, What’s up, Doc?
Matt De Lanoy (Pepa Quin) turns to a classic subject I’ve rarely seen in LEGO form before: Looney Toons. The figures are spot on. Now all we need is for Matt to build Elmer Fudd to hunt the wabbit and duck.
Micro Wizard of Oz
It’s been awhile since we last saw iridescent nohow, but he’s back with a whole slew of micro builds that will make you think twice about a lot of pieces.
I was going to point out all the extremely clever piece uses here, like the drum sticks, the little flesh hands and each of the mini-micro figs … but at eight studs long it’s pretty easy to see all the nice piece usages.
(Though I will point out the fantastic Red Ruby Slippers on Dorthy).

Indiana Gingerbread Man
This build by Ian Spacek made me laugh out loud, so it’s worth posting here:
Nothing like a funny idea, built well with some great piece usage all around. Though there’s a few more gems that Ian and Max have been creating for awhile now, and they’re inviting viewers to write a caption for each of their photos, so go check it out!
The Extraterrestrial View
I may have just blogged something by Jimmy (6kyubi6) yesterday, but he’s on a roll, and this alien moonscape is just too cool to not highlight. The non-photoshopped planets and stars are excellently done, and the space dump truck is sweet too.

Ryan H (eldeem) brings us the household assistant of the future. In addition to being a funny concept, the creation itself is very well built. The color scheme ties together quite nicely, and really suits the idea of a household appliance. These tie in wonderfully with the hub less wheels, which are an awesome detail.

A Mech of a Different Sort
This cartoonish mech by Jimmy (6kyubi6) is fantastic. From the suction cup toes to the wildly expressive projectile and the beady little eyes, this is a terrific hodgepodge of a mech that hits all the right buttons.
Looking Pretty in White and Gold
I always enjoy a good hybrid of Bionicle and System pieces, and Patrick Biggs (DViddy) always does an admirable job, as exemplified in this gorgeous Sailor Scout Hahli Husky figurine. Standing tall at an impressive 13 inches, the detailing around the torso is especially nice.
