It’s no secret that we here at TBB are big fans of Interstellar. Given a choice, we might even replace the Lemur with TARS.
We’ve seen jp_velociraptor‘s beautiful Ranger, and he’s posted a follow up with the Lander vehicle in just as much stunning detail.

Some builds just put me at a loss for words, and this is one of them. The real MS Jutlandia was launched in 1934, and is an impressive 461 feet long. She started her life as a passenger vessel and served time during both WWII and the Korean War. She spent some time as a royal vessel, and was scrapped in 1965.
Arjan Oude Kotte (Konajra) has created this absolutely stunning minifig scale version of this lovely ship. This beautiful build ultimately took 11 months, with 5 months to design and 6 months to build. The ship itself is over 10 feet (3.25 meters) long, and stands nearly 5 feet (1.5 meters) high. He estimates 90,000-100,000 pieces total, bringing this ship to life.

Last week I reviewed the littlest Elves set. Today, I’ve got 41076 Farran and the Crystal Hollow. I picked them up at Toys R Us; I’m happy to report it is now available on the LEGO Shop online. This set has 175 pieces for $14.99.
I admittedly wasn’t sure how I felt about this one at first, since it’s fairly simplistic. From the box, it looked like a tree with some trans green and trans blue pieces. I found that once I was done, I really quite liked it. Shocking, I know.
The LEGO Elves sets are out in the wild! I spotted some this evening at Toys R Us, and picked up a few. Happy birthday to me.
The first set up for review is 41701 Aira’s Creative Workshop. This set is $9.99 and has 98 pieces. It will be available on the LEGO Shop online on March 1.

After my experience with Emmett’s Construct-o-Mech, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect with this one. The mech in that set looked so cool but I was disappointed by the lack of playability with the legs that didn’t move. I am pleased to say that was not my experience with the Battle of Ninjago City. It looks cool, and the playability features–while nothing new–work for the most part, and I enjoyed the build.

It’s been a bit since we featured a castle creation on here, and I think it’s high time!
This tower by Marco den Besten (ecclesiastes) is just full of great details to draw the eye and avoid the big-grey-wall syndrome. I love the decorative elements at the top of each tower, and the lines on the main door. I particularly like the off-angle of the tower in the far back right.

I love seeing well-done, easily recognizable brick-built creatures. I usually see the bigger ones, like mammals and the like. What I don’t often see are adorable insects done in brick.
This butterfly by Dave Foreman (thirdeye88) caught my eye. It’s instantly recognizable, and I have to say I love the vibrant color the wings get from his choice of elements.
This stunning build just begs for the open road. bricksonwheels posted a Harley Davidson Cali Style Lowrider and the chrome on this can be seen from space, I swear.
Like any proper Harley, the engine, wheels, and necessary bits are all sparkly, shiny, and oh-so-very-pretty.

This beauty right here hails from the frozen north. Gerard Joosten (Elephant Knight) has created this lovely Blacktron ship, and it’s a sight to behold. This thing is massive.
Taking over two months to construct, this ship is full of great details. You can stroll through his flickr stream to really get a good inside peak at the galley, the bridge, and other sweet details. I keep seeing something new every time I look at it.
Tall ships and steampunk make very good bedfellows, especially in the hands of Sean and Steph Mayo. Their latest build, the Iron Maiden, is just stunning. I didn’t quite grasp that it was LEGO when I ran across the thumbnail originally.
Should you be so interested, I also recommend checking out the build prior to this. I happen to not care for little flying death monsters myself, but I will acknowledge they are brilliantly done.
When I first spotted this, I did not realize it was a render. I am a big fan of scientific builds, and this is definitely up my alley. I particularly love the molecule model. The scale is fantastic. The periodic table is instantly recognizable.
Matt Bace is definitely knocking out some amazing things, like the power strip we featured last week. I definitely recommend poking around a bit in his flickr steam.
