Just another quiet night in the local...

LEGO builds that are injected with humour are particular favourites of mine. In this regard, I particularly enjoy Ross Fisher‘s builds and his latest perfectly captures a wrong time, wrong place scenario.

The characterisation in both expression and pose of minifigure is effortlessly recreated in LEGO form here and the building the figures populate has some nice touches too, with the loose roof tiles and wood frame of the building capturing the era of the high seas.

A beautiful autumnal scene, recreated in LEGO

I love a LEGO build that you can get lost in and always discover new points of interest. KitKat1414 certainly doesn’t disappoint us with this offering of an autumnal cabin looking out over a body of water. This cabin on the water has a wealth of nice part usage from the model sailing boat using the Lute from the latest CMF series, the weather vane, the trunk of the tree and complimented with the claw pieces serving as reeds dotted around the waterline. I particularly love the brick-built door and the snake heads serving as hinges! But it’s best not to call all the build detail out, feel free to study this one.

Best not to ask what the secret ingredient is...

Bard Jaskier is cooking up a storm in this Warhammer inspired LEGO build. The longer you explore this build, you’re certainly rewarded with the subtle detail scattered around the scene from the rock detail framing the build to the bones littering the floor. Take a look at the cauldron, an inverted tire captures the perfect size and shape with the snake pieces perfectly looking the part for wisps of smoke from the – well, best not to think about what’s cooking…

I came for the Star Wars, stayed for the stained glass

I do love an atypical LEGO Star Wars build and Tom Gray’s latest build ticks all the boxes for me. There’s a lot to love in this Star Wars scene, starting with the diminutive Imperial agent barking orders from his seat of command. Moving beyond the figures there’s so much detail added here – just look at the stained glass window injecting colour to the whole scene using a mix of radiator grills and turntable bases to add a subtle design to the window!

Onwards, to the Sierras

Evancelt Lego has captured a little piece of the Wild West in a beautiful LEGO colour palette in this snapshot of the Westward Expansion. Theres some nice takeaways here from the construction of the carts and the autumnal trees using horn pieces to the clouds made from ice cream.
And as they rode off into the sunset, the wagon train was last heard humming Wandering Star…

We’ll pause for a Hollow hold here

Whenever I’m building small, I often refer to Dan Ko‘s builds for incredible detail using the smallest Lego pieces. Here, Dan has built a small vignette inspired by the game Hollow Knight featuring the Knight and Hornet. Using the new cape piece from the recent Doctor Strange sets as one of the bodies really injects a splash of colour to the build! We see a lot of nice part usage on the heads, with the expression of Hornet speaking volumes through the position of the half-circle tiles, whilst the staff is topped with a subtle collar detail. And did I mention those white croissants for horns? Inspired!
