Tag Archives: Video Games

Even if you’re not an Xbox, PlayStation, or Nintendo gamer yourself, and even if you’ve never played one of the many LEGO games, it’s hard not to appreciate the strange and stunning LEGO creations inspired by video games. Look for lots of LEGO models inspired by Halo, the Legend of Zelda, Gears of War, Pokemon, Final Fantasy, and more. Game on!

Corviwurm by Jerac

Brickshelfer and Classic-Spacer Jerac posted something so cool I can’t help posting it. (Sorry Linus!)

Jerac calls it a “Corviwurm,” but it looks very much like a Zerg Mutalisk (which he acknowledges in his CSF post):

News: LEGO Batman Video Game in the Works?

ComputerandVideoGames.com is reporting that the development studio responsible for the two LEGO Star Wars video games is now working on a LEGO Batman game:

The next licensed LEGO game from veteran UK developer, Traveller’s Tales will be based on the massive DC Comics superhero, Batman, CVG can exclusively reveal today…. When we contacted Traveller’s Tales the studio as expected declined to comment on LEGO Batman, although further delving led us to development director, Jonathan Smith who when asked about the game told us that considering the studio’s long running partnership with LEGO, “we will definitely will be making more LEGO games in the future.”

Sweet.

Via Destructoid (now with bonus pug in Batman costume!), which also has a nice video review of the new LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy.

LEGO Star Wars II: The Original WHAAA?!

My wife picked up a copy of LEGO Star Wars for PlayStation 2 the other day (can you believe I haven’t played it yet?!). I’m already looking forward to the sequel, LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Triology — hey what a second, that’s not right!

Soren’s Mini Advance Wars Units

Advance Wars is by far my favorite Game Boy Advance game, Advance Wars 2 is just as good, and Battalian Wars for Nintendo GameCube totally rocked. As if the game’s units weren’t tiny enough, Soren has successfully distilled them down to mini-scale:

Final Fantasy V Creations by Kakurelegositan

It’s always nice to welcome new LEGO fans to Brickshelf or Flickr. So far, Kakurelegositan’s gallery consists 100% of creations inspired by Final Fantasy. Hurray!

Moko’s FF Characters: Safer Sephiroth and Vivi

I thought Moko had finished his series of Final Fantasy VII characters, but apparently not! Recent updates include the final boss of the game, as well as one of my favorite characters from my favorite FF game, Final Fantasy IX.

Here’s Safer Sephiroth:

And the adorably clumsy Vivi:

Chocobonanza!

Jonesy (aka Kevin Heckel) is an inspiration to us all! In addition to the first floating rocks, he created the first LEGO chocobo.

Now, with instructions from Kevin, he and Fradel Gonzales are running a Chocobo Roundup for Brickfest 2006 later this week. Here are my favorite chocobos so far…

Mark Sandlin’s Classic Space chocobo:

Duane Hess’ Blacktron chocobo:

Chris Giddens barbeques a poor chocobo:

Chris McGrath’s Ice Planet chocobo:

Adrian Drake’s chocoborg:

Gary McIntire’s tan chocobo (love the rider!):

Danny Rice’s undead chocobo:

Monster Hunter 2 Minifigs

Okay, so it turns out that the series of minifigs Sugegasa has been posting lately are based on the upcoming PS2 RPG Monster Hunter 2 from Capcom, and the minifigs were actually built by Sugegasa’s younger brother.

Anyway, here’s the full set:

I like the improvements Sugegasa The Younger has made to the fig with the bow, and the two newest figs are great. I guess talent runs in the family.
