Bruce Lowell (aka Bruceywan) is at it again, making more uncannily accurate models of familiar real-life objects. The latest thing he’s turned his hand to is that classic ubiquitous red wagon, the Radio Flyer, and it’s so crazily accurate, at a glance it just looks like a photo of the real thing.
There are many animal styles of Kung Fu, each of which was represented by a character in the movie Kung Fu Panda. Jack McKeen (madLEGOman) has built almost all of those characters out of his bricks. I think he’s done a fantastic job of creating expressive faces for all the mammals. The mantis model also captures its subject quite well.
Of the models in the photo, the tiger is my favorite, but I can’t wait to see what Jack does for the red panda, Master Shifu.
Back in 1985 you needed $4000 to buy the DynaTAC 8000X phone. Bruce Lowell’s (bruceywan) ABS version is a bit cheaper.

Cole Bl♠q routinely challenges the conceptions of how we use the Lego medium. Continuing his on-going theme of spray cans is his latest sculpture, a viscerally organic interpretation. It is striking and beautiful, in a way not often seen in Lego. It’s not purist–that is, the effect is not achieved with 100% unmodified Lego pieces–but the result is no less spectacular.
Brickshelf user tkh has some brilliant manga/hobby characters in his galleries. His latest, one Melissa Seraphy, is particularly amazing.
Lino Martins (Lino M) claims this Yo-Yo is 100% LEGO and who are we to argue? I’m also wondering if this model doesn’t have the fewest pieces of any we’ve blogged here.
And to let you all in on a personal shame: if you give me a yo-yo I will be ‘that annoying yo-yo guy’ until it breaks. Not the one who can do tricks, the one who just makes it go up and down constantly. I get so mesmerised.
Jose Fernandez (aka Lego-man-at-arms) has fabricated a fantastic Lego version of that ubiquitously cute cat, Hello Kitty. The semblance is spot-on, and Jose has made great use of the limited palette of pink pieces.
I don’t know what the Get Robo company does, but I know I like this sculpture if their mascot by Ewok in Disguise. The robot is cute, and incorporates some intersting building techniques in the torso. Frankly, I think it’s better looking than the source image he based it on.
…could stop Bruce Lowell from building this awesome mailbox. I never thought I would say that a box had beautiful lines and curves but this one does.
I had to do a double-take with this one. The thumbnail looked like it was just a lovely presentation of a small-ish lantern. But it was lovely, so I looked, and realized I was actually looking at a LEGO creation.
Luke Watkins said this was a random creation that took very little time, but I definitely appreciate the build and the thought that went into the presentation.
