LEGO Star Wars 75416 Chopper – Rebel droid and a live wire [Review]

In a galaxy of larger-than-life heroes and villains, it’s the humble droids who serve as the heart of Star Wars. They also make excellent LEGO subjects, appearing in buildable form at a range of scales and complexity. Last year LEGO released a new version of R2-D2 that struck a nice balance between detail and affordability. This May the Fourth, LEGO debuts another astromech at the same scale: LEGO Star Wars 75416 Chopper (C1-10P), built from 1,039 pieces. The opinionated droid crew member of the Ghost features a wobbly head and poseable arms and tools. The set debuts on May 1 and can be pre-ordered now for US $99.99 | CAN $129.99 | UK £94.99. LEGO Star Wars 75409 Jango Fett’s Starship: The Starship Who Shall Not Be Named [Review]

I don’t know if they have heirlooms in Star Wars, but if they do, the Slave I is surely one of the bounty-hunting Fett family’s. It made its first appearance in the Empire Strikes Back as Boba Fett’s ship, but Attack of the Clones revealed that it had once belonged to his father, Jango, albeit in a different paint scheme. The former has made up the bulk of the ship’s LEGO appearances, including a much-loved Ultimate Collector Series edition released in 2015. Ten years on, it’s the Episode II version that is getting the same treatment, in the form of 75409 Jango Fett’s Firespray-Class Starship, containing 2,970 pieces. Release is slated for this Star Wars day (May 4th), with a retail price of US $299.99 | CAN $379.99 | UK £259.99. Is it worth a detour to Kamino? Strap in, let’s find out!

Whenever you read this review, it will not be late, nor early. This review, like a wizard, arrives exactly when it intends to. LEGO has returned to Middle Earth with a series of large diorama sets, and after exploring the formation of the Fellowship in Rivendell, and the second of The Two Towers at Barad-Dûr, we visit the beginning of the story: The Shire. This large hobbit hole is accompanied by accessories that set the scene of Bilbo’s farewell party, and the passing of the Ring to Frodo. LEGO Ideas 21356 River Steamboat – A brick-built voyage [Review]

The LEGO Ideas line has been churning out sets at a record pace! There are lots of fun models coming down the pipeline. However, speed is not the focus of the latest edition to the collection. Quite the contrary, we’re headed for a relaxing, serene paddle downstream. The LEGO Ideas 21356 River Steamboat arrives on the scene as the largest Ideas set ever produced, coming in at 4090 parts. Based on the winning submission by fan designer Aaron Hall, and made a reality by LEGO designer Marina Stampoli, this model is quite the sight to behold. LEGO Jurassic World 76968 Dinosaur Fossils: Tyrannosaurus Rex – An epic specimen to behold! [Review]

Last year, LEGO decided to take a little adventure out of standard playsets in the Jurassic World line, and into some interesting display pieces: fossils! The LEGO Dinosaur Fossils series kicked off with LEGO Jurassic World 76964 Dinosaur Fossils: T-Rex Skull and LEGO Jurassic World 76969 Dinosaur Fossils: Triceratops Skull which were a huge hit. It was only a matter of time before they decided to go bigger! LEGO Jurassic World 76968 Dinosaur Fossils: Tyrannosaurus Rex just arrived on the scene as the first full skeleton in the series. LEGO Icons 10353 Williams FW14B & Nigel Mansell: “And colossally, that’s LEGO Mansell!” [Review & Exclusive Designer Insights]

Modern Formula One cars are fantastically complex beasts. And yet, if you ask hardcore F1 fans what the most technologically advanced car ever is, there’s a good chance they will plump for one from 1992. The Williams FW14B is famous for enjoying its technological superiority over its rivals, with traction control and active suspension among its many innovations. This icon of 1990s F1 is now getting an official LEGO set, alongside its most famous pilot, in the form of 10353 Williams Racing FW14B & Nigel Mansell. LEGO House Exclusive 40506 LEGO Fabuland Tribute – A love letter to an iconic theme [Review]

This year, the LEGO House is hosting a new Fabuland exhibit, and along with it, celebrating the theme with the latest exclusive: 40506 LEGO Fabuland Tribute. This set, a collaboration between LEGO Master Builder Stuart Harris, Senior Designer Markus Rollbühler, and the LEGO House historian team, will only be available in the LEGO House retail store in Billund, Denmark as of March 1st, 2025. LEGO Speed Champions 77242 – 77251 Formula One car collection: is this peak Speed Champions? [Review]

Next week, the Formula One teams will emerge from their bases and hit the track for the first time in almost three months, with pre-season testing preceding the season-opening Australian Grand Prix.
