We all love a good LEGO Gundam or Macross mecha, but LEGO builders everywhere are also creating excellent models of their own designs. Have a look at them here.

The future of warfare is olive green and gory

It’s a good week for small mecha, as hot on the heels of the previous gundams we have a double fistful of pintsize brawlers.

In the green corner we have the Triple-M by Devid, coming at you like a mullet, all lethal armor in the front and human burrito in the back.

And in the teal corner is the Mech with No Name from Guy Smiley, warming up for the match with a fleshie punching bag.

Just because it’s not friday doesn’t mean we can’t spill a little blood. Vote your winner below and we’ll see you fight fans another week for the next pay-per-view Two for Tuesday bloodbath.

Chibi Gundam

If you enjoyed the sweet Gundam by Micah Berkoff (Arkov.) yesterday, prepare for its adorable little brother, the Chibi Gundam by Patrick Biggs. Both employ similar techniques, so the scale difference makes them fun to look at side-by-side.

Bionicle Gundam

This Bionicle Gundam by Micah Berkoff (Arkov.) has all the right proportions, color blocking, and a sickly slick scythe.

Mass Effect Reaper is a Harbinger of the End

This isn’t the first model of a Reaper featured here on The Brothers Brick, but it still warrants highlighting. Ben Caulkins (Benny Brickster) had done a great job of capturing the look of the largest space borne Reapers in the Mass Effect games. The creepy legs and eyes of the machine are perfectly represented.

Horsemen of the post-apocalypse

Through the leaning pose of this futuristic rider, and the outstretched limbs of his steed, Hungarian builder and artist Kristof (legoalbert) manages to impart a beautiful sense of motion to this creation using relatively few bricks. It’s not hard to visualize the leaping gait of this long-legged robot as it efficiently navigates the obstacles of some other-worldly landscape.

But the poetic backstory to this figure really completes the piece and leaves me wanting to see more of the savage world in Kristof’s imagination:

“Dark cloaked shadow-men patrol the wilderness of the Afterworld, roaming around on their tall artificial mounts. Swiftly rushing trough the densest of the forests, zig-zagging on the streets of the dead cities, they’re only vulnerable to the Vultures of the Plain, out in the endless grassfields, where the Insectmen rule.”

Chunktastic

Dane Erland (Mechanekton) has been ladling out delicious servings of mecha goodness in a distinctly stubby and bulky style. The most recent of these has a name best not repeated in either polite or impolite company, so I’ll let the picture do the talking.

And harking back to a simpler time (aka four months ago), Dane posted this duo of deadly tin cans brimming with character.

An ancient warrior awakens

This sand strider by Djokson is one lean and mean fighting machine. The simulated rib cage and the dark-red accented head are very unique features, not to mention the green orb and that big pokey stick.

MSM-03C Hygogg

Gundams are cool and all, but it is pretty clear that when it comes to wicked awesome mecha designs, the Principality of Zeon takes the cake. The amphibious Hygogg is one of my favourite of the zanier designs, and Ryan (graybandit2000) did a bang up job on this version.

Is Captain America Hydraphobic?

When the neo-Nazi super-secret evil organization Hydra needs to get the drop on Captain America, they might almost have a fighting chance if they use this sweet mech by Eric Druon (Baronsat).

Snake Mecha

Jerac hit a home run with this one. This ninjago-inspired snake mecha is rock-solid. I know this because the young Ninjago fans in my house freaked out when they walked by and saw me blogging this.

Bionicle Gundam Mark IV

I think that Gundams are probably by far our most blogged mechs, but I don’t think I can ever recall ever seeing a Bionicle/Hero-factory/System Gundam, let alone one that looks as amazing as the one Micah B (Arkov) just built:
