We all love a good LEGO Gundam or Macross mecha, but LEGO builders everywhere are also creating excellent models of their own designs. Have a look at them here.

Hine Corp. FDX-39 by nnenn

Much less colorful but no less awesome than his last batch of mecha (previous post), mystery-person nnenn presents an all-black mecha. I don’t know what a “core-point suppressor” is, and I don’t really care to learn what transpired during the “Yulnagii offensive,” but dang is this mecha cool:

Vaughan James’ 5ive

The thing I like so much about micro-mecha is that they’re built of tons of tiny pieces. Vaughan James’ recent mecha illustrates this nicely, following in the footsteps of master micro mecha builders like zizy2 and Squieu.

Here’s Vaughan’s “5ive”:

Micro-Mecha Madness!

Japanese builders zizy2 and squieu both build fantastic micro-mecha. What better way to highlight them than in one convenient post?

Here’s zizy2’s “m40”:

And Squieu’s “Gigas”:

Super-Deformed Landmate by Jehkay

Jehkay’s latest mecha is beefy!

Izzo + Sugegasa’s Mecha Frame = Wicked

I don’t blog each one he posts, but it seems Sugegasa builds and uploads a new mecha just about every week — all based on a frame he designed himself. But when Izzo posts an “examination” of Izzo’s frame, combining the talents of two great mecha builders, I’ve got to post that (link, via Builder’s Block v2):

(Click for full gallery, with break-apart pictures from Izzo you can use to build your own Sugegasa mecha.)

MS-14A Gelgoog by Soren

Soren is an inspiration to us all. Sigh…

Here’s his latest, an MS-14A Gelgoog (info):

Happy Birthday, Moko!

In honor of Moko’s 18th birthday recently, I thought I’d feature a few of his latest creations. (Okay, so I would’ve posted them anyway, and they’ve already been Snoikled.)

I love the arms coming out of the new wheel well pieces on this “space mecha”, and the pink makes a surprisingly cool accent color (link):

I can’t find Moko’s blog post for this next mecha, so it might not be new, but it’s new to me and dang is it cool (another great find, Dez!):

Sugegasa’s Flyers

Angular and spiky, Sugegasa’s vehicles are rarely big, boring blocks of bricks. He’s recently posted three such vehicles:

Gundam RX-78GP01 and XMA-01

Moko is at it again, building mecha in addition to his usual minifigs, micro-vehicles, vignettes, and so on. Today’s batch brings us mecha from the Gundam universe.

Mechanimals of the Air and of the Earth

While I’ve been busy hosting my brother and his wife, Izzo has continued his “Mechanimals” series. Click on over to his blog or Brickshelf gallery to see all of them, but here are a couple of my favorites.

Santa’s podracer (blog post):

This one may be my favorite so far — a mole mech (blog post):

Izzo’s Ideon

I have to admit that I’m not a huge Ideon fan, what with the decapitations and universal (and I say that in its most literal sense) destruction. That said, I’ll grant that Izzo has recreated the titular mecha quite nicely:

MS-09R Rick Dom by Justin Harvey

Back in May I blogged Hiron’s MS-09F Domtropen. Now, Justin Harvey has posted a another version, MS-09R Rick Dom (info) in awesome alternate colors:
