Adrian Florea‘s excellent Zerg Baneling from StarCraft II just makes the game’s release date seem that much farther away.
And don’t miss Matt de Lanoy’s Banshee.

Fedde combines scorpions, crabs, dragon wings, and other disparate elements into one amazing whole he calls a “Dracopede”:
And here’s another one we missed over the holidays. Fedde showcases his alter ego, the Necrosorcerer Karf Oolhu, “Making himself a +10 Crown of Magic Protection”:
So that’s what the Old Ones did before traversing the depths of space, only to fall asleep beneath the waves here on Earth…
I’m a sucker for ApocaLego. Especially the lone survivor type. This little scene by Kevin Fedde is excellent. In fact, he is doing a series, based on this fig’s journal. You can keep track of the updates in Kevin’s ApocaLego folder.
My wife said I couldn’t blog this, as she likes chickens and felt sorry for the poor thing. Don’t tell her that I posted it, okay?
The extremely prolific Jordan Schwartz is aiding and abetting those dang aliens. This is a real menace and nothing to joke about. Check out the evidence for yourself.
The indomitable Mike Crowley is working on a series of alphabet animals. They are small, cute and packed with that Crowley charm. Makes me wish I could build like that.
He’s also built a pretty sweet Penguin.
Mike Psiaki continues to churn out great additions to his Jurassic Park layout.
His latest is actually inspired by 5935 Island Hopper, from the Adventurers “Dino Island” series.
Here’s Mike’s current lineup of terrible lizards:
V&A Steamworks just posted a terrifyingly awesome Steampunk Crab. It has no name, as yet, but they are asking for suggestions. Go check it and drop off a few.
This car, by Firas Abu-Jaber, is out to get you.
I meant to blog this right after it was posted, but I forgot. I’m not perfect, okay? Anyway, it deserves to be showcased, as its freakin’ sweet! I’m loving that giant snake too.
Those of you lucky enough to snag a 7979 Castle Advent Calendar have probably just started opening those little doors to discover your Christmas goodies. (You can also follow along on ReasonablyClever.com.)
One of my favorite holiday LEGO traditions, though, is the series of small creations posted each day in December (until Christmas Day) by Japanese builder MisaQa. This year, she’s focusing on “Mythical Creatures,” starting with the Wyvern:
Since it’s already December 2 in Japan, she’s also posted her second creature, a three-headed Cerberus:
Check back in MisaQa’s Advent Calencar 2008 folder on Brickshelf or check them out her Web site, Stud&Tube
Our focus here on The Brothers Brick is new creations (unless we’re fooled on Brickshelf, as we sometimes are). Nevertheless, classic creations come to our attention now and then that predate the blog and absolutely deserve broader attention.
Adrian Drake (Brickfrenzy) has been posting pictures of older creations on Flickr lately, and my favorite so far is his turkey mecha:
Click the picture for Adrian’s history of this creation, and check out the gallery on brickfrenzy.com for more pictures, including shots of the turkey with all weapons deployed.
Oh, and a belated “Happy Thanksgiving!” from me, too. ;-)
